Summer at Blue Sands Cove by CP Ward

Today is my stop on the Blog Tour for this uplifting summer release from CP Ward. Thank you to Rachel's  Random Resources for inviting me to join the tour, and for my copy of the ebook in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

Book Description
Tired of the city, Grace Clelland returns to Blue Sands, the quiet Cornish seaside village where she grew up. There she will meet old flames and old friends, rekindle old loves and ignite new ones in a novel that will have you dreaming of the soft crash of the waves on the shore, the feel of sand between your toes, overloaded ice-creams and smoky beach barbeques.

My Review
Grace Clelland works as a waitress in London. It is not a job she is enjoying and life is really getting to her. Things get worse after one particular day, so when she is offered the chance to head back to her home town of Blue Sands in Cornwall for the summer, Grace decides this could be the opportunity she needs to work out what she wants from her life.
Grace is met at the train station by her best friend and who has a surprise for Grace, but it does not take long for the pair of them to be enjoying each others company again.
Grace is soon getting back in the swing of Cornish village life and is even beginning pick up some of the hobbies she had before such as surfing and Cycling.
With the summer ahead of her Grace is making the most of her time and enjoying every moment she can.
She is meeting up with old friends and making some new ones.
Things for Grace become complicated when she realises her past love is now settled down and married with a child. Grace finds this difficult and it hurts her even though it was her decision, but with so many events taking place in Blue Sands Grace is soon distracted and there may even be a new romance on the cards for her too meaning that Grace can have some difficult decisions to make.
It is certainly going to be a summer that Grace will never forget.
This is a such an uplifting and fun summer read that I loved from beginning to end.
I found the book fun and witty, and the story flowed well.
The setting of Blue Sands sounds so pretty and the perfect place to spend your summer.
I enjoyed getting to know Grace. It is clear from the beginning just how unhappy she is with her life and it is wonderful to watch her relax and regain her confidence as the story progresses.
There is a cast of characters within the close knit community that all play a part in the life of Grace and who all add to the story too.
This is a book about friendship, community and romance, and is the perfect addition to your summer reading.
