Today I am pleased to share with you my review of this brilliant read from Kathryn Freeman as part of her blog tour. Thank you to Rachel's Random Resources for inviting me to take part and for my copy of the ebook in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.
Book Description
She’s got the brains, he’s got the muscle …
When Kelly Bridge’s parents insist on employing a bodyguard for her protection, she’s not happy. Okay, so maybe not every woman is on the cusp of developing a vaccine against a potential biological terrorist attack – but crikey, it’s not like she’s a celebrity!
Ben Jacobs flunked spectacularly out of school, so he knows his new client Dr Kelly Bridge spells trouble for him. But on a conference trip to Rome he finds things are worse than he thought. Not only is he falling for the brilliant scientist, he’s also become horribly aware she’s in grave danger. As they go on the run, dodging bullets and kidnappers, can he resist his feelings and keep her safe?
My Review
This is a fantastic read full of humour, romance and suspense that will have you absorbed from the first page to the last.
Kelly is a scientist who is currently working on a vaccine to help protect from a biological attack by terrorist. Kelly is on the verge of a breakthrough and that is when she starts to get some suspicious visitors. Once her parents find out about the visitors and concerned for their daughter's safety they decide to employ a bodyguard. Kelly is disgusted by the idea and is adamant that she doesn't need one or want one. Her parents decide they know best and employ one anyway.
Ben is the bodyguard they employ. He once worked within the special forces but after being shot and no longer able to work in the force he now works as a bodyguard.
Once Ben starts to work with Kelly it isn't long before he sees just how much danger that Kelly is in and he is desperate to keep her safe. Kelly however is not convinced and will fight Ben every step of the way and will not listen to his concerns.
Ben and Kelly are complete opposites but they seem to want to help each other as Kelly can see that Ben is lacking in confidence as she want so help him build it back up again. All Ben wants to do is keep Kelly safe.
With the pair of them working so close together and their need to stay safe will romance blossom between the pair of them as they do say opposites attract, or once the work is over will they go their separate ways.
I loved this book from start to finish. The characters ave very believable and also very likeable especially Ben who wouldn't want a handsome man to protect them and keep them safe.
Kelly is also a fantastic character and you do understand why she feels like she doesn't need a bodyguard and why she fights his every decision regarding her.
I really enjoy the writing style of Kathryn Freeman and I'm looking forward to seeing what her next release will be about.

About the Author
A former pharmacist, I’m now a medical writer who also writes romance. Some days a racing heart is a medical condition, others it’s the reaction to a hunky hero.
With two teenage boys and a husband who asks every Valentine’s Day whether he has to buy a card (yes, he does), any romance is all in my head. Then again, his unstinting support of my career change proves love isn't always about hearts and flowers - and heroes come in many disguises.
