A Christmas Kiss by Eliza J Scott

Today I am on the Blog Tour for this wonderful, cosy, romantic and festive read from Eliza J Scott.
Thank you to Rachel's Random Resources for inviting me to join the tour and for my copy of the ebook in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

Book Description
A sparkling festive romance that will warm your heart this Christmas.

The week before Christmas, GP Zander Gillespie finds his festive plans in tatters. He's supposed to be flying out to his parents' chateau in Carcassonne with his high-maintenance girlfriend, Melissa. But she has other ideas. She wants to spend Christmas in London with her party friends - and he's not invited. The prospect of facing his family, with their questions and their sympathy - not to mention the 'I told you so-s' - just isn't an option. Instead, Zander decides to head to his holiday cottage in the quaint moorland village of Lytell Stangdale, where he intends to hide away with his faithful rescue Labrador Alf.
Eighty miles away, Livvie's world has come crashing down. With plans to cook a romantic meal for her boyfriend, she heads home early and walks in on him in a compromising position with their neighbour. Fed-up of his lies and philandering ways, this is the final straw. With her Christmas plans up in smoke, the thought of spending it with her parents and her smug, married sister with her pompous husband in tow, is enough to bring Livvie out in hives. So, when she fires up her laptop and finds the perfect little holiday cottage in Lytell Stangdale available to rent over the festive period, it seems the perfect solution. Or is it...?
Zander didn't believe in love at first sight until he set eyes on Livvie. Livvie had sworn off men until she met Zander. The pair may be reluctant to give in to temptation, but fate seems to have other ideas...
Join Livvie and Zander - and all the usual characters - for a magical Christmas in Lytell Stangdale.

My Review
I was so excited to be given the opportunity to read this fantastic new release from the brilliant Eliza J Scott, I am a big fan of hers, and I was not disappointed. I was absorbed in this festive treat from start to finish and did not want to put it down.
It is the week before Christmas and Zander Gillespie who works as a GP is looking forward to the festive break with his family in his parents chateau in Carceassonne. That is until his girlfriend, Mellissa decides she has had a better offer to spend Christmas in London with her friends. Mellisa has always been high maintenance but now Zander is finding life with her more and more difficult and he isn't sure if the is what he wants from life. He makes the decision to not head to France with his family as he cannot face going alone and getting all of the sympathetic looks and comments from his family. So Zander decides that as his holiday cottage he rents out in Lytell Stangdale is free for the Christmas period he will go and stay there and get plenty of chance to relax.
Livvie is looking forward to finishing work and heading home to cook a romantic meal for her boyfriend. She has made plans to finish work early and head home. What Livvie had not planned for was to come home and find her beloved boyfriend and their neighbour in a very compromising position. Livvie is livid and makes the decision that their relationship is over. She has put up with his awful ways and behaviour for too long and she's had enough. This gives Livvie a problem with what she should do for Christmas. She's not looking forward to spending it with her stuck up and snooty family who make her feel like she isn't good enough.
Livvie makes an impulsive decision to go away for the festive season on her own. She looks online for somewhere to stay and is thrilled to find a beautiful looking cottage in Lytell Stangdale she books it straight away and once she is all packed she is soon on her way.
Livvie falls in love with the cottage the moment she sees it especially with the covering of snow it now has. He first thought is to have a nice relaxing bath and forget about all of her worries.
Zander is relieved to finally arrive at his cottage. The snow had got worse the closer he got there and he could not wait to get in and relax. What he didn't plan on was all of the lights to be on and then find a beautiful woman enjoying a bath in his cottage. What was going on?
Once the pair of them had got over the shock of seeing each other they realise there has been a mix up and the cottage has been rented by Livvie. Zander apologies and explains that he will go back home, but with the snow still coming down fast and the roads not safe they decide he had better stay for the night. The two of them decide to make dinner together and they spend the evening getting to know each other. There is an instant spark of attraction between the two of them and they both do get on well together. This is not something the two of them planned but with the weather not changing and the two of them spending more and more time together. With the romance of the village setting and the magic of Christmas in the air  anything could be possible.
I loved this book from start to finish. It is the perfect Christmas read and one you can really get cosy with.
The setting for the book is fantastic and if you are a fan of Eliza's books then you will recognise it from her previous books in the series. You get to revisit some of the characters that we all know and love and they welcome Livvie to the village with open arms.
I loved both of the main Characters of Livvie and Zander in this book. They have both had sadness in their pasts and are both looking for happiness, though neither of them expected to find where they did.
As I mentioned this is book four in the Life on the moors series however all of the books can be read as standalone reads.
I have loved reading all of the series and I am looking forward to seeing where Eliza J Scott will be taking us next.
