A Reason to Grieve by Mick Williams

Today I am pleased to be taking part in the Blog Tour for this wonderful, romantic and at times sad, read from Mick Williams. Thank you to Rachel's Random Resources for inviting me to join the tour and for my copy of the ebook in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

Book Description
Tom and Emma drift through life, both burdened with a heavy sense of grief. Both have suffered devastating loss and have closed themselves off to the possibility of happiness. Then, at a funeral, their eyes meet and they feel something neither expected.
Supported by their quirky friends and a ‘right to the point’ pensioner, will they overcome their fears and find the solution to the pain within each other, or will they give up and go their separate ways?
In turns funny and sad, A Reason to Grieve is a romantic tale about two people fighting their feelings, about love and loss. And about funerals.

My Review
This is a brilliant read that I thoroughly enjoyed from start to finish.
Emma is a hairdresser with her own very successful business. She enjoys working with her friends and has great relationships with all of her customers.
What her friends don't know about her is that Emma regularly attends funerals. Emma believes that by going to the funerals even if she doesn't know who has passed away will help her deal with the grief that she feels internally but cannot get out. Emma thinks her friends will not understand her.
Tom is till trying to deal with the loss of his parents at a very young age and he is still burdened down with the grief from all those years ago. He regularly attends local funerals like Emma does in the hope that he will find some release from the grief that surrounds him.
It is at one of the local funerals that Emma and Tom meet and it is clear that there is stirring of attraction between the pair of them.
What follows in the book is the building of their relationship as they help plan a party for one of her much loved customers who has been diagnosed with cancer.
But once the pair of them start to share their secrets with each other will they be strong enough to understand each other or will the secrets just be too much for them both to bear.
I loved the writing style of this book. It is filled with brilliant funny moments that will really make you laugh but it is also tinged with sadness too. I loved the relationship Emma has with her work colleagues and her favourite customers. They all really do support each other and can depend on each other too. I liked the relationship that Tom has with his friends too. They all seem like they have a very tight relationship and are their to support each other through all of the ups and they have too.
The writing style of this book is highly addictive and one I loved.
