Christmas at Lock Keeper's Cottage by Lucy Coleman

Today is my stop on the Blog Tour for this wonderful festive treat from Lucy Coleman. Thank you to Rachel's Random Resources for inviting me to join the Tour, and for my copy of the ebook in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

Book Description

Join us for Christmas in the Cotswolds in this perfect festive escape, from the bestselling Lucy Coleman.

Imogen Tolliman never knew her mother. And when an accident robs Immi of her father too, she goes to live with her grandfather, Tollie, in his picturesque lock-keeper’s cottage by the Aysbury marina.

Tollie is the star of the Santa Ahoy Special each Christmas – a festive boat ride along the canal that enthralls both children and adults alike. And as Immi grows up, she starts to appreciate the magical community she is lucky enough to live in.

When Immi meets Gray Adams, she instantly realises he’s someone special. And as their relationship gets serious, they start to plan for the Christmas to beat all Christmases.

But as the day approaches, and the romantic snow showers turn into blizzards, their dream of a Christmas to remember, looks set to be one they’ll never forget - for all the wrong reasons. Can they salvage the festivities, or will old secrets that are finally uncovered turn Immi’s life upside down forever?

Let Lucy Coleman transport you away to a dreamy Cotswolds Christmas full of snowflakes and secretslog fires, mistletoe, friends and much-loved traditions. Perfect for all fans of Trisha Ashley, Holly Martin and Sue Moorcroft.

My Review
This is my first festive read of this year and once I got started I just could not put it down.
Take a trip to the Cotswolds for the perfect Christmas.
Imogen Tolliman loves living in Aysbury. She had a difficult childhood which saw her lose both of her parents and her grandmother leaving her to live with her grandfather in the Cotswold village. Aysbury is a safe haven for Immi and a place she feels like she always belongs.
Immi Loves being part of the community in Aysbury with its Marina, pub and picturesque setting. She enjoys taking part in many of events that take place but her favourite has to be The Santa Ahoy special that her grandfather, Tollie runs. This is a festive boat ride that travels along the canal and keeps children and parent returning for a festive treat year after year.
Immi is in a relationship with the lovely Gray Adams. The two of them have been together for  a while but after Gray recieved news that his mother was ill, their relationship has mainly meant spending weekends together. With Grays mother finally on the mend the two of them begin to plan a future together and this is going to be the best Christmas ever.
Christmas goes into full swing in Aysbury and all of the community are busy making this another amazing year. The Santa Ahoy Cruises are doing well and they have even launched a new festive beer in the local brewery. Immi has planned to have Christmas dinner at Lock Keepers cottage and is keen to invite everyone to make it so special.
With Christmas fast approaching things unfortunately begin to fall apart with the predicted snow showers becoming blizzards and secrets becoming revealed that could turn Immi's life upside down. Christmas is looking like it will be one they will never forget but for al the wrong reasons.
Can the community of Aysbury all pull together and save Christmas and will the secrets revealed change Immi's life forever.
One things for sure this will not be a quiet Christmas.
This is such a wonderful read that will really get you into the mood for Christmas.
The setting of the book in the Cotswolds sounds simply Devine and the perfect place for a spot of romance too.
I really enjoy the writing style of Lucy Coleman. I found the book to be engaging throughout and thought the surprise plot twist was a great addition to the story.
Immi is the main character within the story and its clear from the very beginning just how kind and warm hearted she is. She is always putting others before herself which does leave her to having more people round for dinner than she expected.  She also strikes up a very unlikely friendship with Mrs Price who we all get to know more as the story progresses.
Gray is so obviously in love with Immi and that comes out through the story. The difficulties he has with his mother being ill and needing him do hamper his life with Immi but maybe the plan they have will make them both happier.
The community the surrounds Immi and her grandfather sound wonderful and it is great just how much they can all bring together and support each other.
Lucy Coleman has dome it again with another truly heartwarming and uplifting read full of love, romance, family, traditions and of course Christmas.
