The Cottage of New Beginnings by Suzanne Snow

Today is my stop on the Blog Tour for this heartwarming and uplifting read from Suzanne Snow. Thank you to Rachel's Random Resources for inviting me to join the tour, and for my copy of the ebook in exchange for this honest and unbiased review.

Book Description
One crumbling cottage. One broken heart. A chance to start over?

When Annie returns to Thorndale, the village where she spent much of her childhood, she’s looking for a new start. All she wants to do is fix up the cottage her godmother left her, and fix up her broken heart.

When she clashes with local hero, Jon, Annie can’t help but wonder if coming back to Thorndale was a mistake. The village has clearly changed and the last thing she needs is more drama. But avoiding the distractingly handsome Jon is proving impossible, especially when Thorndale seems to be conspiring to throw them together…

Annie is looking for a fresh start with zero romance – but what if the only way to learn to trust again is to take a risk on love?

The perfect cosy romance for fans of Julie Houston, Victoria Walters and Trisha Ashley.

My Review
This is such a wonderful and uplifting read that is perfect to cosy up with and I loved it from beginning to end.
Annie finds herself returning to Thorndale to move into the beautiful cottage left to her by her godmother.
Annie has such fond memories of staying with her godmother in the village and is looking forward to fixing her broken heart and starting fresh within the small community.
Life for Annie has been difficult of late and she is looking forward to getting back to her old self after taking on a job at the local school too.
Annie is shocked when she first sees the cottage as it looks like it needs some love and attention to it as it has been left empty for a while as her godmother was in hospital, but Annie is determined to restore the cottage to its former glory.
Annie is soon getting herself reacquainted with the residents of the village all of whom knew her godmother and had become friends to them both over the years of Annie's visits.
Annie also bumps into local man, Jon who is part of the village rescue team. The two of them clash and Annie is upset by this even though she did find him extremely handsome. She has sworn off romance to try and protect herself from becoming heart broken again.
It seems that Thorndale has other ideas and it seems to Annie that Jon keeps popping up wherever she goes. The two of them do become friends and it becomes clear that they both have feelings for each other but is Annie ready to let Jon into her heart or will her past heartbreak prove too hard to get passed. Only time will tell.
This is such a wonderful, romantic and cosy story to read. The writing style flows well and really does keep you engaged as you read through the pages.
The setting of the village sounds just idyllic and the perfect place to fix a broken heart.
Annie was a lovely character to get to know. She slowly opens up about her life before moving to the village as the story progresses and you do understand her reluctance to become involved in another relationship.
Jon sounds like the perfect man to give Annie the love and support that she needs in her life and he will do anything to try and support her, even if that means just being her friend. Jon also has some difficulties in his past that he has overcome.
There are some brilliant supporting characters within the book who also try their best to encourage the romance between Annie and Jon.
This is a perfect book to snuggle up with and one that will warm your heart.
