Unwrapping the Best Man by Rachael Stewart

Today is Publication day for this hot and steamy new release from Rachael Stewart. Thank you to Rachel's Random Resources for inviting me to take part, and for my copy of the ebook in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

Book Description

On the first night of Christmas, her sexy crush finally gave to her—an unbelievably hot night! Now she’s ready for nights two, three and four… Unwrap the steamy sequel to Getting Dirty by Rachael Stewart.

I’ve lusted after brawny, gorgeously rough Jackson Black for six lust-fueled, unrequited years. But Jackson has rules, and the big one is “no getting involved with clients” of his elite London sex club. Including me. But our best friends are getting married, and for one deliciously hot night, the maid of honor and best man agree…what happens in the Scottish Highlands, stays in the Scottish Highlands.

It was everything I wanted and more…until the complete jerk disappears during the night.

Now it’s Christmas, and I have a plan to prove to Jackson Black just how much I don’t care, that he doesn’t turn me on like a Christmas tree. Only Operation: Naughty Elf is backfiring big-time. That aching need for his touch is stronger than ever. It’s painfully clear that I want more than just a fling from the untouchable Jackson Black.

I have one chance to unwrap the best man. But is this sexy, guarded grinch about to steal my heart…or break it?

My Review

Having read the previous instalment from Rachael Stewart, 'getting dirty' I was so excited to read this sequel and wow this was such a hot and steamy book that I simply could not put down.

Caitlin Carey has been a member of Blacks, an exclusive sex club for six years and the owner, Jackson has always been easy on the eye for her and she has always wanted to get know home better. Jackson is a very quiet and private person and most definitely will never mix business with pleasure. That is until they are both pushed together at the wedding of their best friends, where the pair of them have one hot, wild and steamy night together. leaving Caitlin waiting more. But Jackson is so appalled by his behaviour with Cait and knowing he can not offer her more.

After avoiding each other for months the two of them accidentally meet up and the chemistry between the pair is obviously visible, so the two of them make a plan to just become friends with benefits. But will this be enough for Cait and will Jackson give in to his feelings too?

This was such a hot and steamy read that you could almost feel the heat coming off the pages.

having read 'getting Dirty' it was fab to read the sequel and to get an insight into the lives of Caitlin and Jackson. The book is full of so many twist and tuns you really cannot predict the outcome and the chemistry between the two of them positively sizzles.

Caitlin has had her eye on the gorgeous, but serious Jackson for such a long time, he appeals to her in so many ways and she is desperate together to know him better so it is a dream come true when she spends that one hot night with him. But she is devastated when he only wants one night. Caitlin hatches a plan and decides to get Jackson back in her life she must play dirty.

Jackson is a very complex man and has his reasons and secrets from his past for not getting involved with Caitlin but it is obvious he does care about her.

This is a HOT addition to the Mills and Boon Dare library and one you should definitely not miss out on reading.

A fantastic five star read!

It's Raining Men by Rich Amooi

Today I am on the Blog Tour for this romantic comedy from Rich Amooi. Thank you to Rachel's Random  Resources for inviting me to join the tour, and for my copy of the ebook in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

Book Description
On a dare, Faith Daniels tosses a coin into the infamous “Fountain of Love” and wishes for the perfect man, laughing it off as the dumbest thing she’s ever done. Like magic, her quiet life turns upside-down when men begin to appear out of nowhere. There’s a doctor, a lawyer, a firefighter, and a swimwear model, for starters. All of them are kind, generous, successful, and drop-dead gorgeous. All of them are interested in Faith. But who is Mr. Right?

My Review
This was such a fun read that I thoroughly enjoyed from beginning to end.
Faith Daniels has been single for the last five years after the passing her beloved husband Ryan, Her two best friends decide that it is time that Faith moved on and found someone else to share her life with, especially as this is what Ryan would have wanted.
They dare Faith to throw a coin into the 'fountain of love' and wish for the perfect man. Faith doesn't believe that it will do anything but to keep her friends happy she reluctantly completes her dare not expecting anything to change.
Faith turns to return to work and is shocked with just how much attention she is getting for the men around her. Not believing it to be anything other than coincidence she continues with her day.
It is only when she arrives back at work to tell them about doing the dare and letting them know about all the attention she has been having that in begins to sink in that maybe some magic happened after all.
What follows on from this is all of the ups and downs of the attention and maybe Faith will find love again too. After all magic can happen even if you don't believe.
This was such a fun read and I enjoyed getting to know all of the different characters within the book. They are all such good friends of Faith and they all just want the best for her, Especially Noah.
I found the writing style very witty and engaging keeping me engrossed in the story. There are plenty of twists and turns with the book will keep you guessing right up to the end if Faith does find another love.
This was the first book I have read by Rich Amooi but it definitely will not be the last.

Christmas at Aunt Elsie's by Emily Harvale

Today I am pleased to share with you my review of this heartwarming and uplifting festive release from Emily Harvale. Thank you to Rachel's Random Resources for inviting me to take part in this 1 Day Blog Blitz, and for my copy of the ebook in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

Book Description

A distant relative. A blizzard. A Christmas of surprises.

Lottie Short isn’t looking forward to Christmas. Her boyfriend has dumped her and she’s also lost her job. Lottie and her beloved spaniel, Merry, are facing the festive season – and a bleak future, alone.

But a Christmas card and round-robin letter give Lottie hope. And as the first snowflakes fall, she’s on her way to the tiny seaside village of Seahorse Harbour to visit her distant aunt. She’ll stay in a cosy B&B and get some bracing, sea air. That might lift her spirits.

What she doesn’t plan for is a blizzard, her aunt taking a fall, or the dramas unfolding all around her. But at least there’s a warm welcome at Aunt Elsie’s cottage … and a roaring log fire in the village pub.

That’s not all that might bring a rosy glow to Lottie’s cheeks. Asher Bryant, the local vet is pretty hot, and Lottie also hits it off with another visitor to Seahorse Harbour. This festive season might be better than she hoped.

And when Lottie gets more than one surprise this Christmas, perhaps she and Merry won’t be spending the New Year on their own.

This is book 2 in my new series of standalone novels set in the tiny, seaside village of Seahorse Harbour.

My Review
This is the second instalment from the new series in Seahorse Harbour and once I started Reading I could not put it down.
It is nearly Christmas and Lottie is definitely not in the festive mood. She has recently not only lost her job but her boyfriend has also dumped her. This is leaving Lottie with a bleak time ahead of her. There is a chance to change things and after receiving the family newsletter Lottie finds herself heading to the village of Seahorse Harbour to visit  her Aunt Elsie. Lottie is hoping the change of scenery and the fresh air will give her the chance to plan what she wants from the rest of her life.
Things don't quite go plan and the dramas begin from the minute she arrives with a severe blizzard hitting the area covering it in a blanket of white.
Lottie is delighted to meet up with Elsie and find out that she has more relatives that she did not know about too. This is where the drama continues with complications in the lives of everyone around Elsie and then she takes a tumble and more drama unfolds.
Elsie is enjoying staying in the local B and B with its cosy bedroom and making the most of staying of visiting the local pub to with its welcoming atmosphere and cosy open fires.
Things heat up even more for Lottie when she gets to know the handsome local vet too.
This could be the best Christmas and New Year that Lottie has had for a long time.
This is a great fun and uplifting read that enjoyed from the very beginning. It was great to revisit Seahorse Harbour and see many of the residents we got to know in the first book.
This book is not only full of fun and drama but there are also some twists and turns with the book that will really surprise you.
Emily Harvale has done it again with this brilliant festive treat that will really get you in the spirit of Christmas.

Book Description

Take a trip back to Wishington Bay this winter and find out…

A deliciously heart-warming and romantic read, perfect for a cosy winter’s evening, from the author of the bestselling Winter’s Fairytale.

My Review
In this book we return to the very picturesque village of Wishington Bay for the winter.
This book focuses on the lives of Sophia and Nate, both of whom have found themselves in living in Wishington Bay.
Sophia found herself living in Wishington Bay after the breakdown of her marriage. She was offered a job as a housekeeper while her friend was away and she she jumped at the chance for more money so she could stretch her budget further.
Nate has been offered the house to stay in by his brother Gabe while he is away. Nate is not keen at first as he just wants to be left alone. He is also getting over a broken marriage and trying to write book.
At first it seems that Sophia and Nate are not going to get on as they are both so different but as time wears on the two of them strike up a friendship and they both feel like they can be themselves with each other. Nate is especially enjoying getting to know Sophia as she seems to be so different for all of the girls he has known.
But what Nate doesn't know is that Sophie has a secret from her past that she is trying to keep hidden, but someone is desperate to reveal the truth.
Will Sophia ever get her happy ever after?
This was such a wonderful book to read and I could not put it down.
Winter seems to be such a lovely time in Wishington Bay and I definitely would love to be able to pay it a visit.
I enjoyed getting to know both Sophia and Nate. It is obvious the pair of them have both been incredibly hurt in the past and this makes you understand the decisions they both make.
This is book filled with romance which will lift your heart. There is also a twist in it which I did not see coming but really does add to the storyline.
This book is perfect reading for a cosy winter evening.

Christmas at the Cornish Confetti Agency by Daisy James

Today I pleased to share with you my review of this romantic and funny festive treat from Daisy James. Thank you to Rachel's Random Resources for inviting me to join the tour, and for my copy of the ebook in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

Book Description

It's Christmas at The Cornish Confetti Agency!

When Lexie Harrington is asked to choreograph Phoebe and Sam’s Christmas-themed wedding, she can’t wait to create the perfect winter wonderland - elegantly dressed fir trees, glossy garlands of holly and mistletoe, baskets of yule logs and pine cones, and the mouth-watering fragrance of gingerbread, cinnamon sticks and warm mulled wine floating through the air.

With handsome wedding columnist-cum-fledgling scriptwriter Theo Barker at her side, she’s confident that she can create the perfect festive ambience the bride and groom have been dreaming of since their engagement in the Swiss Alps; no rampant hosepipes, no mechanical mice, no confetti-filled hairdryers.

But this is The Cornish Confetti Agency, and the words ‘plain-sailing’ and ‘hassle-free’ do not feature in the promotional brochure. So, when a much-loved portrait of the groom’s father is adorned with pirate eye-patches and black plastic moustaches, and his expensive cologne is switched for toilet cleaner, Lexie and Theo must once again don their metaphorical deerstalkers and unravel the mystery before the wedding dissolves into Christmas-themed chaos and calamity.

A perfect Christmas wedding?
Is there such a thing for The Cornish Confetti Agency?

A glittery, feel-good story perfect for the festive season, and the third book in The Cornish Confetti Agency series.

My Review
I have been a fan of this series from book one and I could not wait get started reading this festive instalment, and WOW I was not disappointed this is the perfect Christmas read and I could not put it down.
Lexie has loved working at the Cornish Confetti Agency, making peoples dream wedding happen for the last six months. But with Marnie the owner of the business due back to take over from Lexie this Christmas wedding will be her last so Lexie is determined that this wedding will be perfect and all of the dramas around her previous weddings will be a thing of the past.
This wedding will be for Phoebe and Sam, and with it being near Christmas they have gone with a winter and Christmas theme which Lexie is really enjoying putting in place.
Things seem to be going to plan could the be the wedding that is drama free? time will tell but something tells Lexie that it won't be long before her and Theo are again on the case to make sure all of the carefully made plans all go ahead.
Will this Christmas wedding be the perfect end to Lexie working with the agency?
This was such a wonderful festive treat and I adored it from beginning to end.
It was lovely to meet up with Lexie and Theo again and see them solve another mystery together.  The wedding that Lexie has all planned out sounds so amazing and you can almost smell all of the festive treats dripping off the pages.
I love all of the magic surrounding this wedding. It all sounds perfect and the perfect way to celebrate the marriage of Phoebe and Sam with all of their families and close friends, creating memories to last a lifetime.
This will be the perfect Christmas read to add to anyones collection.

Daisy James loves writing stories with strong heroines and swift-flowing plotlines. She especially likes to create sunshine-filled settings in exotic locations - the Caribbean, Tuscany, Cornwall, Provence - so she can spend her time envisioning her characters enjoying the fabulous scenery and sampling the local food and drink.

When not scribbling away in her peppermint-and-green summerhouse (garden shed), she spends her time sifting flour and sprinkling sugar and edible glitter. She loves gossiping with friends over a glass of something fizzy or indulging in a spot of afternoon tea - china plates and teacups are a must.

And when the bride, Cheryl, vanishes Jodie is drawn into the investigation, realising that life in the countryside might not be as quaint as she remembers…

With a missing bride on their hands, there is murder and mayhem around every corner but surely saving the day will be a piece of cake for this not-so-amateur sleuth?

But when chaos breaks out, Jodie Parker somehow always finds herself in the picture.

The body of a writer from the festival is discovered at the bottom of a cliff, and the prime suspect is the guest of honour, the esteemed painter Duncan Stovall. With her background in the Met police, Jodie has got solving cases down to a fine art and she knows things are rarely as they seem.

A Village Vacancy by Julie Houston

Today is my stop on the Blog Tour for this fun and witty new release from Julie Houston. Thank you to the team at Aria for inviting me to join the tour, and for my copy of the ebook in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

Book Description

From the bestselling author of A Village Affair comes a laugh out loud new Westenbury tale...

As the Yorkshire village of Westenbury mourns the loss of one of their own, the women can't help but contemplate who will fill the vacancy in one handsome widower's life...

Grace Stevens has decided it's time to move on without her husband. He's off gallivanting around Devon in search of a new life, and good riddance. It's time to go back to teaching, so Grace returns to Little Acorns and takes on an unruly class of pre-teens.

As she deals with disasters in – and out of – the classroom including an accidental dalliance with her most troublesome pupil's dad, helping track down a drug ring and keeping up with her closest girlfriends, Grace begins to wonder more and more about the sparkle in David's eyes and the sparking chemistry between them.

Could Grace be the one to fill this village vacancy?

My Review
This was such a fun and witty read that I loved from beginning to end.
It was great to find myself back in the chaotic lives of the residents of the Yorkshire village of Westenbury.
All of the residents seem to have so many things going on and all of their lives are intertwined through their relationships. This is a great addition to the series from Julie Houston, although it can be read as a standalone read.
It certainly is never dull in the Westernbury and that becomes clear from the first page.
This story does focus on the life of Grace, who after finding out that her husband is leaving her again decides that she is moving on and is delighted to be working again. As you read the book you realise how much Grace has got going on in her life and how complicated it has become. You can see that all Grace wants is to be loved and supported.
Grace has plenty of dramas to contend with but she does have some fun along the way too with her family and friends. There are some funny storylines with the book that are fun to read. There are some serious storylines covered too including a county lines drug story which is very relevant to how the world is now.
I really enjoyed revisiting Westernbury and with the way in which it is written makes you feel like part of the community too.
Thank you Julie Houston for another wonderful and addictive read.

Read on for an extract ....

‘Come on, Hat, let’s get over to Clementine’s, I’m desperate for a drink and to dump these heels.’ Grace rubbed at the back of her lower leg and frowned.

‘A drink?’ Harriet Westmoreland glanced to her left where Libby, her eldest daughter, stood with her partner, Seb Henderson, David and Mandy’s only son. ‘It’s not even eleven-thirty yet. And what about the committal? We can’t just troll off down the road for a quick gin when she’s not even been laid to rest.’

‘Family only, apparently.’ Grace looked slightly put out. ‘As if we two aren’t her oldest friends. You know, who here has known her the longest of all…? Who adored her, copied everything she did? Whose day was totally made by one single glance across the school assembly hall from her? I do feel, Harriet, we were more family than some of her actual family.’

‘Grace,’ Harriet said patiently, ‘we couldn’t stand her a lot of the time.’

‘Shh, for heaven’s sake, don’t speak ill of the dead. OK, OK, I admit, over the years, you me and her have had our differences, but you know perfectly well Mandy’s death has hit both of us like a ton of bricks. I still can’t believe I’m never going to see her again…’ Grace broke off, openly wiping away tears that fell from behind her sunglasses before reaching down to pull up Pietronella’s pristine white socks once more.

‘She drove us both mad, Grace, you know she did, so let’s not pretend otherwise.’ Harriet raised an eyebrow. ‘I still think if Nick had been the type of husband to be seduced by another woman, she’d have snared him when they were working together in Italy.’

‘Talking about me?’ Nick Westmoreland appeared at their side, putting an arm around each of them.

‘No, Mandy.’

‘Well, all nice stuff, I hope. You can’t badmouth a person once they’ve gone, and especially at their own funeral.

‘Oh God, Nick, don’t. Just saying that, you know, that she’s gone, I can’t bear it.’ Grace wiped her eyes again.

‘Not like you, Grace.’ Nick frowned in her direction before picking up Pietronella and throwing her up in the air. ‘You and Mandy were always at daggers drawn with each other.’

‘Do you think you should be doing that, Nick?’ Harriet frowned at her husband. ‘You know, playing at fairgrounds with Pietronella? We’re at a funeral, not a party.’

For a split-second Nick looked contrite and then shook his head. ‘Don’t be daft. I bet Mandy wouldn’t have wanted us to be miserable.’

‘I bet she would,’ Harriet muttered. ‘She’ll hate it if she’s looking down on us now and we’re having a good time without her.’ She shivered slightly as she gazed up into the fortuitously forget-me-not blue sky, the very colour of Mandy’s eyes. No one would ever be able to forget Amanda Henderson, nee Goodners, only daughter of one of the largest mill-owning families in Yorkshire and wife of the very wealthy and charismatic David Henderson.

‘Mandy just couldn’t help herself; you know that. She needed the adoration of others whether it be man, woman or child, in order to live.’
