Christmas at Aunt Elsie's by Emily Harvale

Today I am pleased to share with you my review of this heartwarming and uplifting festive release from Emily Harvale. Thank you to Rachel's Random Resources for inviting me to take part in this 1 Day Blog Blitz, and for my copy of the ebook in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

Book Description

A distant relative. A blizzard. A Christmas of surprises.

Lottie Short isn’t looking forward to Christmas. Her boyfriend has dumped her and she’s also lost her job. Lottie and her beloved spaniel, Merry, are facing the festive season – and a bleak future, alone.

But a Christmas card and round-robin letter give Lottie hope. And as the first snowflakes fall, she’s on her way to the tiny seaside village of Seahorse Harbour to visit her distant aunt. She’ll stay in a cosy B&B and get some bracing, sea air. That might lift her spirits.

What she doesn’t plan for is a blizzard, her aunt taking a fall, or the dramas unfolding all around her. But at least there’s a warm welcome at Aunt Elsie’s cottage … and a roaring log fire in the village pub.

That’s not all that might bring a rosy glow to Lottie’s cheeks. Asher Bryant, the local vet is pretty hot, and Lottie also hits it off with another visitor to Seahorse Harbour. This festive season might be better than she hoped.

And when Lottie gets more than one surprise this Christmas, perhaps she and Merry won’t be spending the New Year on their own.

This is book 2 in my new series of standalone novels set in the tiny, seaside village of Seahorse Harbour.

My Review
This is the second instalment from the new series in Seahorse Harbour and once I started Reading I could not put it down.
It is nearly Christmas and Lottie is definitely not in the festive mood. She has recently not only lost her job but her boyfriend has also dumped her. This is leaving Lottie with a bleak time ahead of her. There is a chance to change things and after receiving the family newsletter Lottie finds herself heading to the village of Seahorse Harbour to visit  her Aunt Elsie. Lottie is hoping the change of scenery and the fresh air will give her the chance to plan what she wants from the rest of her life.
Things don't quite go plan and the dramas begin from the minute she arrives with a severe blizzard hitting the area covering it in a blanket of white.
Lottie is delighted to meet up with Elsie and find out that she has more relatives that she did not know about too. This is where the drama continues with complications in the lives of everyone around Elsie and then she takes a tumble and more drama unfolds.
Elsie is enjoying staying in the local B and B with its cosy bedroom and making the most of staying of visiting the local pub to with its welcoming atmosphere and cosy open fires.
Things heat up even more for Lottie when she gets to know the handsome local vet too.
This could be the best Christmas and New Year that Lottie has had for a long time.
This is a great fun and uplifting read that enjoyed from the very beginning. It was great to revisit Seahorse Harbour and see many of the residents we got to know in the first book.
This book is not only full of fun and drama but there are also some twists and turns with the book that will really surprise you.
Emily Harvale has done it again with this brilliant festive treat that will really get you in the spirit of Christmas.
