My Review

I was really looking forward to reading this as I have read previous releases from Rachael Stewart and loved them. This book was no exception and it had me hooked in from the first page to the last. 
Eva is a successful business woman and is looking to expand her business and be able to stand on her own feet without her family helping her out. At the event she has planned a face from her past is there to see her. Lucas was once part of her family after her parents took him in. Eva is shocked to see him and feel the spark of attraction and passion to him is still there even after the years that have passed. 
This time she wants to be in control and get what she wants from Lucas and then she can walk away from him and leave him out of her life forever. What she did not plan for was her heart to start to rule her head and after their first passion filled encounter she is already wanting more. 
Lucas is determined to go into business with Eva especially as this will not please her family and he will get to know her again by any means possible. What he is not prepared for is the strength of attraction he has for Eva and their erotic encounters always make him want more for Eva and make his feeling for her stronger. 
Can they both have what they want or will Eva's family keep them apart forever?
What a brilliant read. The passion within this book is positively falling from the book and will leave you wanting to read more. 
I loved getting to know both Eva and Lucas. They both have history together and the sparks between them both are great to read. The story is told to you from both the perspectives of Lucas and Eva which keeps the book flowing well. 
Rachael Stewart has an amazing way of writing that sizzles and is passion filled  from the very first page, and will keep you absorbed from beginning to end.

Coming Home to Merriment Bay part three by Emily Harvale

Today I am sharing with you my review of this latest instalment from Merriment Bay by Emily Harvale. Thank you to Rachel's Random Resources for inviting me to join the tour and for my copy of the ebook in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

My Review

It is Christmas time in Merriment Bay and things are looking up for Cat, and her daughter Kyra as they now know the identity of the man in the photograph they found amongst her grandmothers things thanks to Amias. They only issue they have is that Bailey Mitchell, the man in the photo lives thousands of miles away and he is ninety eight years old. Meeting up will not be an option for either party so they have been sending Christmas cards and talking via Social Media. It is while the chats are happening that Cat finds out some new information that surprises her. 
Christmas this year will be a happier time for Cat and her Mother, Mary as they both seem to be getting along together even with Mary's new man on the scene. 
This Christmas with magic in the air and snow beginning to fall Cat is hoping the magic will create miracles and that she will be able to put the past behind her and maybe she will be ready to fall in love. 
I really enjoyed reading this third instalment from Merriment Bay. It is great to read about the change in season and all of the Christmas feelings are amazing. It is lovely to read that Cat and Mary are really beginning to rebuild their relationship after everything that happened in the past. It is also lovely to read that love could finally be in the air for Cat. 
I really enjoyed all of the series so far and I am already looking forward to reading the final instalment.

My Review

I was so excited to be given this opportunity and I could not wait to start reading.
Ronnie Percy has returned back to her family home to run the stud business her father had. This was not easy for Ronnie as she left home with her lover many years before. He family are still full of anger for how she behaved all those years ago and are finding it hard to forgive what she did. 
Pax has returned home to her mother though, she has been having troubles in her marriage, not helped by her drinking and she is hitting rock bottom. She is determined to get her son back. Her cause is not helped when, on New Years Eve Pax finds her self stranded at the airport awaiting the arrival of horseman,Luca O'Brien who her mother has employed help turn the stud farm around. Pax turns to drinking while she waits and things turn from bad to worse for her relationship with her husband when he finds out she has spent a night away in a hotel with another man. Pax is determined to prove her husband wrong that she does not have a problem with alcohol and she is desperate to have her son back where he belongs. 
head groom, Lester is not happy to hear about the new arrival at the stables. He is disappointed that Ronnie feels he can't run things on his own, he has also heard all of the stories about Luca O'Brien and how he treats his horses. 
With the stud farm to run they all grudgingly work together. But they all have secrets they are hiding, some that they are desperate to keep to themselves and some they share to help themselves. 
This is a story full of passion and is a gripping read. 
I am a big fan of Fiona Walker and I could not wait to start reading this, once I started I could not put it down as it had me gripped to the story. 
Ronnie is back in the family home and she is determined to make a success of her fathers business, just like it used to be. She is also wanting to repair the fragile relationship she has with her family, especially Pax as she can see just how unhappy she is. Pax is determined to get her son back and her mother is trying to help her and its great to read about the passion and anger the two of them have between them. As you read through the book you become more aware of the secrets between the pair of them. This is written so well that you really do understand their relationship. 
The character of Luca is a very different one as he is a closed book and doesn't share his life history with the others. He has suffered in his past and that becomes more apparent as you read through the book. 
There is also a cast of extra characters within the book that really help with the story lines that flow through the book. They all bring some humour and wit to the book too. 
I love the writing style of Fiona Walker, it flows well and always keeps you wanting to read more.
 This book is full of fun, passion and all the wit we have grown to love from her and this is a book you will never be disappointed in purchasing.

Coming Home to Merriment Bay part 2 by Emily Harvale

Today I am pleased to share with you my review of the second part in the series from Merriment Bay from the wonderful Emily Harvale.

Cat Devon knew she couldn’t avoid Amias Wells for long. She also knew sparks would fly the moment they came face to face. They never did get on and nothing has changed in eighteen years – except that Amias is even more annoying. So why does Cat still catch her breath whenever he looks her way?

The fact he flies a vintage Spitfire for the Merriment Bay WWII Museum doesn’t interest Cat, but his knowledge of the former RAF pilots stationed there certainly does. She wants to find out all she can about the man in the photo in Viola’s trunk. And what with hospital visits, dealing with her mum, and sorting out problems with Viola’s house, Cat could use more than just Kyra’s help.

But Kyra makes it clear she thinks Cat and Amias should spend more time together. Which is ridiculous. Apart from the fact they don’t get on, Amias wasn’t interested in Cat before the accident that left the ugly scars on her face and body, so he definitely won’t be attracted to her now. Besides, Cat’s not looking for romance. She’s happy with her life just the way it is.

My Review

I was really looking forward to reading the next part of the story and I wasn't disappointed.
Cat and Kyra have made a decision to stay in Merriment Bay for a while to help Cat's mum sort out the huge house. It also means that she will be able to visit her grandmother more and also start to build a better relationship with her mum. All that Cat needs to do is try and avoid Amias, too much has happened between them in the past. However Kyra feels she should start to get to know him again as she doesn't understand all that has happened in the past between the two of them.
When Cat and Amias do meet up though sparks do fly between the pair of them, they are  both so full of anger for what happened eighteen years ago, but the attraction for both of them is still there even though they are both trying to deny it.
Amias has been working on who the man is in the picture that they found within her grandmothers belongings and he thinks he has found a match but will Cat be happy with him helping them,  Kyra is determined that Amias can help them even if it means that even more sparks will fly between the pair of them.
This is such a great instalment to the story and with all of the chemistry flying between Cat and Amias its certainly entertaining. I am really enjoying learning more about the past between them both and how their lives changed on that fateful day. I am already looking forward to reading part three of the series.

My Review

After reading the blurb for this book I was really excited to get started on reading. I have not read a book from Sophie Pembroke before but I could not wait to get started. 

It is the week before Christmas and Fliss and her closest friends from University are all meeting up and staying on Mistletoe Island in Holly Cottage, just like they 10 years ago after they had all graduated. They are all there to celebrate the wedding of Fliss to Ewan and its great for them all to be back together again. 

A lot has happened to the seven of them in the last ten years but they have all remained in touch with each other. They have been there for each other so much since they all started university together and of course the wedding of Fliss is not one that any of them would miss out on. 

However things are not all they seem between them all as they are all harbouring secrets that they haven't shared with each other over the years and ones that could all be about to come out.  Will Lara and Jon be able to sort their differences,  will Caitlin and Neal be able to sort out their marriage and will Ruth and Alec be able to move on from their devastating loss. 

But most of all will Fliss get the wedding of her dreams?

I loved this book from start to finish and I could not put it down. 

I really enjoyed how the story was told through the eyes of Fliss, Lara and Ruth. Each of them giving their perspective of what's happening between all of the friends and how each others lives are working out. You also get an insight into some of the secrets the friends are keeping from each other. They tell you the story from 2009 as well as 2019 so you get to see what their last visit to Holly Cottage was like too. 

I thoroughly enjoyed they writing style as it flowed well and the setting for this book sounds like such a romantic place, perfect for a winter wedding. This book is set at Christmas time but does not revolve around Christmas. It is more about the friendship and relationships that the group share and how they all need each other too. 

I loved my first book from Sophie Pembroke and I am already excited to read more.

My Review

This book is a brilliant start to a series. I loved it from the first page to the last and I'm really looking forward to reading the next part.
Cat Devon is spending the day with her daughter Kyra who is celebrating her 18th Birthday, when an envelope drops through the door with handwriting that Cat instantly recognised its one she definitely had not been expecting. The letter is from her mother with whom she has had no contact since Cat left home 18 years ago. 
The two of them read the letter together it is decided that they both need to head to Merriment Bay and get to the bottom of what is happening. This is a big decision for Cat to make as it will bring back so many memories of a difficult past. 
The two of them arrive in Merriment Bay and Kyra is shocked to found out just how big the family home is, she is also exited to meet the grandmother she has never met.  Cat is more nervous as things have happened in the past with her mother and there are people within the town that Cat is not keen to see again.
It soon becomes apparent what is going on and what her mother is asking her to do. She needs Cats help to clear the family home so it can be sold. Cat agrees and is soon deep in helping her mother. It is while she is clearing out the house that she finds a leather trunk. In the trunk is a photo of a man in RAF uniform and a stack of letters. Who is this man and what part does he play in all of their lives. Cat and Kyra are determined to find out. 
This is a fantastic start to the story and one that will have you gripped from the first page. 
I really enjoyed meeting both Cat and Kyra who have a brilliant relationship. Cat has got plenty of secrets she is really trying to keep to herself, ones she is trying to protect her beloved daughter from. Kyra at 18 is really enjoying getting to know more about the past of her mother and understand more about their relationship. 
I really like the writing style of Emily Harvale. it flows well and keeps you entertained throughout the book. I am really looking forward to reading the rest of the series.
