The Little Brooklyn Bakery by Julie Caplin

The Little Brooklyn Bakery
by Julie Caplin
(warning this book will want to make you eat cupcakes! 😋)

Sophie is working as a food editor for a magazine based in London and is offered the chance of a lifetime to do a job swap with their sister magazine in New York. Sophie is reluctant to accept the offer, but once she's found out that her beloved boyfriend James is not everything he seems to be she has a change of heart and accepts the role, and is soon jetting off to New York to try and mend her broken heart.
Once in New York Sophie soon finds out that her new apartment is situated above The Little Brooklyn Bakery. Sophie is soon drawn in by the lovely sugary treats and the smell of coffee and there she meets the lovely Bella, Her landlady and owner of the bakery.
on her first day at her new job Sophie finds out that she will be sharing an office with the very handsome Todd. After being hurt Sophie has decided to stay single, and even though she finds Todd very attractive she is keen to keep her distance this proves to be very difficult as they both share a love of food and as well as the office and soon sparks are starting to fly. Maybe Todd will be the man to mend her broken heart?

This book is the second in the trilogy following on from The Little Cafe in Copenhagen

This was the first book I have read by Julie Caplin but I was hooked from the first few pages!
this is a great read with the setting in New York and cake involved what could go wrong? really enjoyed reading this book and I found it perfect reading for a beautiful day out in the sunshine.
the characters are very well written and you feel like you really get to know them as you read through the book. You also get a good insight into all of the characters backgrounds and watch as their different relationships grow and develop into maybe something more.
At the end of the book you get a sneak peak at the next book in the trilogy The Little Paris Patisserie and this looks just as exciting and I can't wait to read it when it is released in September.
