Sweatpants At Tiffanie's
by
Pernille Hughes
Tiffanie Trent is having a nightmare week. After being dumped by her boyfriend on their ten year anniversary when she thought he was going to propose, leaving her heartbroken and also homeless. She is then at work at Blackie's boxing gym, where she has been a book keeper for many years, when the owner, Frank Black drops dead in the office they share! Tiffanie is left to organise the funeral for Frank, and its there that she bumps in Mike "The Assassin" Fellner her first love who broke her heart when he left town many years ago. Can Tiffanie not get some good luck?
Its at the reading of the will the next day that Tiffanie is shocked to find out that Frank has left her Blackie's! Tiffanie is really confused to start with why Frank has left her the gym, especially when she is coming across some complaints from members of the training team saying she is a woman and not up to the job! This makes Tiffanie more and more determined to make changes at Blackie's and put her stamp on the place but all of this comes at a price. But with her friends, old, and mew by her side, and her growing confidence she is soon making changes and making the place her own.
But somebody out there really doesn't want Tiffanie to succeed and will do anything to get her out of Blackie's. Luckily she has people on her side determined to fight for her and her knight in shining armour Mike Fellner.
Will Tiffanie's open for business and will Mike help heal Tiffanie's broken heart?
I really enjoyed reading this book and I did find myself laughing out loud at times. I found it very well written and it has a very strong storyline that works all the way through. I liked the fighting spirit that Tiffanie found along the way and how she became less of a doormat. I enjoyed learning about her past relationship with Mike and how that changes as the story progresses.
I would really recommend this debut novel Pernille Hughes and I'm looking forward to see what comes next from her.
