A Little Christmas Charm by Kathryn Freeman

A Little Christmas Charm
by
Kathryn Freeman

Welcome to my Blog and today it is my turn on the blog tour for my review of this lovely festive treat from Kathryn Freeman. I would like to thank Rachel at Rachel's Random Resources for inviting me to take part. I hope you like and enjoy my review. Happy Saturday.

Book Description
Would you swap sea and sunshine for tinsel and turkey?
Gabby Sanderson is used to being let down – even at Christmas. Which is why she’s happy to skip the festive season completely in favour of a plane ticket and sunnier climes.
But this Christmas could be different, because this time she might not be spending it alone. Can Owen Cooper charm Gabby into loving Christmas in the same way he’s charmed his way into her life, Or is he just another person who'll end up disappointing her?

My Review
This is a cosy, romantic and laugh aloud festive treat from Kathryn Freeman that I loved from start to finish.
The characters in the book are all very relatable and you really get an insight into their past and see why they act the way they do. I really like the character of Gabby and the story of her past with her Mum. You completely understand why she feel the way she does about Owen and why she puts up the barriers she does around people to protect herself.  The character of Owen is very loveable and all he wants to do is make all of the lives of the ones he loves happy. Sometimes this doesn't always work but you do understand that his heart is in the right place and he is just trying to help.
There are also some fantastic supporting characters in the book that really are a really good addition to the story. There is Owen's secretary Hilda who is very efficient within her role. She seems to be quite old fashioned and lacking in confident but is able to strike up a relationship with Owen's Dad, Sidney.
Sidney is fantastic character that will really have you laughing out loud at and its great to see the relationship he has with Owen develop and get stronger. There is also Zoe the daughter of his Ex girlfriend Stella which who Owen has a fantastic bond that is almost a father daughter bond. Although Owen is not happy when Stella manages to throw a spanner in the works and Owen has to do everything he can to keep everyone happy, apart from maybe himself.
As I said already I loved this book from start to finish. This is the perfect festive read to cosy up with really get you into the Christmas spirit. This is the first book I have read by Kathryn Freeman and Im looking forward to see what others I can add to my kindle library.

Author Bio

A former pharmacist, I’m now a medical writer who also writes romance. Some days a racing heart is a medical condition, others it’s the reaction to a hunky hero.
With two teenage boys and a husband who asks every Valentine’s Day whether he has to buy a card (yes, he does), any romance is all in my head. Then again, his unstinting support of my career change proves love isn't always about hearts and flowers - and heroes come in many disguises.
