Book Description
Nineteen-year old Jennifer is regretting her hasty move into Sunset Promenade, an unusual retirement home taking in students to save on money. Despite their differences in age, Jennifer and the older residents thrive and embark on a series of new adventures. But when Sunset Promenade is threatened with closure, cracks begin to show and this quirky group of friends must work together to save their home.

The growing pains of Jennifer Ebert aged 19 going on 91
is a funny, warm and uplifting novel about the importance of friendship, the value of community, and how it's never too late to have the time of your life....

My Review
This was a brilliant, touching and heartwarming read that had me hooked from the first page and made me very reluctant to put it down.
The main character of the Book, as the title suggests is Jennifer Ebert she is a student that has changed university and is really looking to reinvent herself. She decides that while her student accommodation is being sorted out she will stay in the Sunset Promenade retirement home. It is here that she meets a wide range of quirky and funny group people, young and old, who she will build some new relationships with.
She is going to be sharing her new home with three other students all of which come from different backgrounds and under other circumstances would have not have formed the relationships they have.
There are some very humorous parts to this story as all of the residents get to know each other and have some adventures together. there is also some sadness too as you see some of the prejudices that are still apparent between the two generations.
I loved getting to know all of the different characters within this book and as you read through you really get an insight into each their lives and you get to see what has happened in their pasts.
I enjoyed the mystery within the book and all the twists and turns have you gripped as you turn the pages.
This book is written in such a way that will have you wanting more long after you have finished reading it. David M. Barnett has a way of drawing you in and keeping you there until the very last page.
This was the first book I have read by David M. Barnett but I can assure you that it will not be the last.

I would like to thank Tracy Fenton for inviting me to take part in the 12 days of Christmas blog tour for Trapeze publishing.
