My Review
This is a wonderful, heartwarming and cosy read that I simply adored from beginning to end.
Allie Macdonald loves living in the village Heartcross and can never see herself leaving it.
Her boyfriend, Rory Scott is the local vet. He works in the practice with his father. Rory has big plans for the business to move forwards but his father is reluctant to embrace any changes.
Allie is ecstatic when she finds out that Rory has inherited the neglected Clover Cottage. She has big plans to tun this into the happy ever after she has always wanted. Rory however has other plans, and after meeting a major celebrity gets given the job offer of his dreams to work in Africa. Rory is excited with this huge offer and is keen to head off. Allie really doesn't want Rory to go but is determined to help him follow his dreams even if that means not getting the chance to follow hers for a while. This changes when Allie has the opportunity to apply for a photographer job. She is reluctant to go as this would mean her leaving her beloved Heartcross. However it could be the distraction that she needs while Rory is away.
With new adventures that lay ahead for the pair of them and the support they are receiving from all of their beloved friends the future for them both looks so bright, and when they have been on their adventures their home in Clover Cottage will be their next adventure.
I was really excited to revisit Heartcross and see the residents from Love Heart Lane that I have grown to love. I was not disappointed with this book and was absorbed from start to finish.
This is the third book in the Love Heart Lane series and it is great to see the residents again. This story feature the lives of Allie and Rory and its great to get to know them both. Allie is a lovely character and as you read the book you understand her longing to stay in Heartcross and make Clover Cottage her forever home.
Rory is an ambitious character and you can see why he wants to head to work in Africa. You can also see how torn he is in leaving Allie.
I love the writing style of Christie Barlow is has a light style about it which makes it flow well but also keeps you totally absorbed.
I am a big fan of the Love Heart Lane series and I can't wait to see what happens next.
