A Summer Wedding for the Cornish Midwife by Jo Bartlett

Today is my stop on the Blog Tour for this romantic and uplifting release from Jo Bartlett. Thank you to Rachel's Random Resources for inviting me to join the tour, and for my copy of the ebook in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

Book Description

It’s wedding day in Port Agnes!

The venue is booked, the dress is picked, and Senior Midwife Anna Jones only has to say ‘I Do!’ to the man she loves! Theirs might have been a whirlwind romance, but Brae Penrose is everything Anna dreamed her husband would be and she can’t wait to start a family with him.

But as the big day approaches, Anna still isn’t pregnant and when disaster strikes, their perfect day looks destined not to happen at all! Is it a sign to slow things down?

The other midwives won’t hear of Anna and Brae postponing their big day, and soon the whole community of Port Agnes comes together to make sure the Penrose wedding goes off without a hitch!

And Anna realises, baby or not, she already has her dream family with Brae and her friends by her side.

Meet The Cornish Midwives of Port Agnes- where community, friendship and love are always delivered.

An uplifting and escapist read, perfect for fans of Christie Barlow, Jessica Redland and Holly Martin

My Review
We find ourselves returning to Port Agnes for the wedding of the year.
Anna and Brae have set a date for their wedding, the dress is chosen and nodal that is left is to say I do.
Anna and Brae have had a whirlwind romance but the two of them could not be more suited or more in love.
Anna has had some difficulties in her past which are never far from her thoughts but being with Brae has made her so happy something she never thought could be possible. There is only one thing she would like to add to their relationship which she feels would make it perfect. But that does not seem to go to plan either.
Things are going well for the pair of them but as their wedding day draws nearer disaster strikes and it looks like the wedding is off.
Will the loving and supportive community of Port Agnes be able to help Anna have the wedding she's always wanted and bring her the happy ever after she has been longing for.
This is a wonderful addition to the series from Port Agnes. I loved revisiting all of the past characters I have grown to know and some new ones too.
I love the community feel you get from this book and just how much they all love and appreciate the team of midwives in Port Agnes.
I enjoyed reading Anna's story. She has had some tough times in the past which stay with her but she has learnt how to deal with them and make them more positive with her future.
Anna has a great group of friends around who give hers much support and she supports them back too.
This is a book full of friendship and love with a great sense of community.
I am already looking forward to the next instalment from Port Agnes.

About the Author

I was born a stone's throw from the English Channel and I still live near the sea in Kent, with my own family - so close to the South Eastern edge of England that we're very nearly French - and it's probably why so many of my books are set near the sea too. I've made up stories for as long as I can remember, but never really took it any further. Concentrating on my career and family, writing went on the back burner until a catalyst called cancer gave me a major kick up the proverbial. I decided I was going to write that novel after all.
