My Review
This is such a heartwarming and uplifting read that I loved from beginning to end and could not put down.
Elle Bea has lived in the beautiful Cotswold village of Haileybrook her whole life. For some this picturesque and quiet village sounds like paradise but for Elle it has become a tie and she just wants to escape village life.
Unfortunately for Elle every time she tries to leave she is drawn back into village life by family loyalties and past loves.
Is Elle destined to stay in Haileybrook forever, giving up her dreams of visiting the world, Or will a new love give her the chance she needs to follow her dreams?
This is such an uplifting and feel good read full of family and friendship and one that will put a smile your face.
Life hasn't always been easy for Elle living in Haileybrook. She dreams of pursuing a job in London and one day being able to explore the world. It becomes clear as you read the book just how much loyalty she has to those around her in the village and how much of a part of her life they have become. You do see why she feels compelled to stay but also why she wants to go and have an adventure.
As you read the book you do see a change in Elle as her self confidence grows but she remains tied to the village.
I love how this story is told over a few years and is not rushed. I found the writing style very engaging and I thought the book flowed well as the years progressed.
I thought the village of Haileybrook sounded idyllic and the perfect spot for some romance. I enjoyed getting to know all of the characters that lived in the village too and I really hope that this is not our only visit to Haileybrook.
This is a perfect summer read.
