Your Secret's Safe With Me by Rosie Travers

Today I am really excited to be sharing my review of this highly addictive read from Rosie Travers. I would like to thank Rachel's Random Resources for inviting me to take part and for my copy of this book in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

Book Description
Career girl Becca Gates’ organised life is thrown into chaos when her mother, romantic novelist Pearl, announces her surprise engagement to Jack, a man she has only just met.
Worse news follows when Pearl tells Becca she intends to leave London, quit writing, and retire to her new fiancĂ©’s idyllic waterside home on the south coast. Becca is determined to prevent Pearl from making a disastrous mistake, but when she at arrives at Rivermede, more shocks await when she stumbles upon a familiar yet unwelcome face from her past.
As Pearl embraces her new life amongst the local sailing fraternity, Becca receives a grim warning that all is not as calm as it seems at picturesque Rivermede, and if she wants to keep her family safe, she should keep them away.
But why should Becca trust the man who has betrayed her before, the man who broke her heart, the man who thinks he knows all her secrets?

My Review
This is a fantastic and highly addictive read that I loved from start to finish. I loved the mystery and with so many twists and turns within the story it was hard to put down.
Becca is struggling to come to terms with the bombshell her mother pearl has just dropped by announcing she is getting married again. Becca is not against her mother being happy, her concerns are that it is happen too quickly as she's only known the man 8 weeks after meeting him on a cruise. Becca is keen to persuade Pearl to think about her actions and understand the upset that it will cause for the whole family. She calls upon her brother Freddy to help her out but he doesn't seem to be worried about it.
Becca is further shocked when her mum says she is moving into the home of her husband to be Jack in the waterside house on the south coast. This will mean selling her home in London which will mean that Becca will be moving too.
Once she has moved in with Pearl and Jack Becca visits the local pub and bumps into her ex fiancĂ© Nick, who she is shocked to see especially when he tells her his name is Alex! Becca finds out he is working undercover and he has told her that the area is unsafe but she is reluctant to believe him as he has lied to her before.
What follows in the book is the adventure this dysfunctional family has in the lead up to the wedding. There is definitely something sinister going on with the sleepy town and Becca wants to find out what it is and she is desperate to keep her family safe, and should she trust Nick, or will he let her down again. There are some fantastic twists and turns as you read the book that you will not see coming, and there is more than one mystery to solve.
I loved the writing style of Rosie Travers she has a way of keeping you engrossed in the story and keep you guessing with the mystery and intrigue right up to the very end.
This is the first book I have read by Rosie but I am already looking forward to seeing what adventure she takes us on next.

The Truth about Love and Dogs by Lilly Bartlett

Today I am so excited to share with you my review of this amazing read from Lilly Bartlett. I was sent a copy of this by Michele Gorman in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

Book Description
Four little words, uttered by her husband…
‘Oh my god,’ he gasped into her shoulder. ‘Shannon!’
There’s just one problem: her name isn’t Shannon.

Rewind six months and Scarlett and Rufus aren’t in the honeymoon stage anymore so much as the honey-should-we-bother phase. Desperate to get their sparkle back, Scarlett has plotted, planned and waxed more than any woman should have to, but none of it is working. Which makes it very hard to start the family they want.

At least her business is going strong, even if her marriage isn’t. She and her best friend spend their days tangled up in dog leads and covered in fur. Scarlett is the fairy dogmother, training hopeless pets like compulsive eater Barkley, impulsive Romeo Murphy and bossy Biscuit. Meanwhile, her best friend walks the dogs and pines for the man who doesn’t know she exists. Thank goodness the women have each other.

If only Scarlett could work out how to get her marriage back on track. But Rufus isn’t sharing his feelings with her. He is, though, sharing with her best friend. Her best friend, Shannon.

Meet your new best friends in the witty, uplifting, utterly hilarious tale that will make you laugh, cry and say “I know the feeling”. Perfect for fans of Marley and Me, Marian Keyes and Jenny Colgan!

This romcom was originally titled Love is a Four-Legged Word by Michele Gorman.

My Review
This is a romantic, heart warming and funny read that will have you absorbed from the first page to the last. Scarlett is running a very successful business as a dog trainer alongside her best friend Shannon. Scarlett loves her job and is very good at it. She gets to meet some fantastic and sometimes chaotic dogs and their owners which often result in hilarious situations and this will really have you laughing out loud.
Rufus is Scarlett's Husband. Rufus and Scarlett met while they were both travelling in Australia and they have been happy together ever since. Except things are now starting to cause friction within their marriage. There is one thing that they both feel would make their relationship complete however, things are not going to plan and life is causing them both feel stressed. this is then having an impact on the relationship. Neither of them seem to be very open with each other which is not helping the situation. Will they be able to resolve their issues and open up to each other before it is too late?
I loved reading this book. You get a fantastic insight into the lives of Scarlett and Rufus and you begin to understand why things may be going wrong and how they can help each other.  There are some fantastic characters within the story which help you learn more about the relationship between Scarlett and Rufus. There is Shannon who has a crush on a man she sees on her dog walk everyday but she has yet to speak to due to her shyness. Shannon was first friends with Rufus but has now become best friends with Scarlett too and is doing everything she can to help them both stop their relationship falling apart. There are some brilliant and hilarious dogs who have chaotic relationships with their owners and although these are not main characters they do have a very important part of the story in the lives of Rufus and Scarlett. I loved this book from start to finish and I'm looking forward to seeing what Lilly Bartlett will be writing next.

Mr One-Night stand by Rachael Stewart

Today I am so excited to share with you my review of Mr One-Night Stand by Rachael Stewart as part of the blog tour. Thank you to Rachel's Random Resources for inviting me to take part and for my copy of the book in exchange for my honest review.

Book Description

One night only.

Just think of the possibilities...

The second she sees Mr Oh-So-Delicious, Jennifer Hayes knows she needs one night of crazy. No names, no strings, no rules. Except that Jennifer's naughty one-nighter is actually Marcus Wright—her new business partner! Now they're mixing business with all kinds of pleasure. But when it comes to falling in love her sexy Mr Wright is either Mr Wrong or the best mistake of her life...

My Review
This is a brilliant and addictive read that kept me hooked in from the first page to the last.
The book starts with Mr Wright waiting to meet up with Tony the man who is the business partner of Jennifer Hayes. He is however running very late and Mr Wright is on the verge of leaving their they meeting in when, Jennifer walks through the door and Mr Wright is stunned with the women walking in. He is mesmerised with her. You then see the book through the eyes of Jennifer and she is struck with how good looking and handsome the stranger in the bar is and is keen to get to know him.
The sparks are soon flying between them both and what happens between them both is a desire filled erotic one-night stand that they both thoroughly enjoyed and were happy to keep as just the one night.
It's now the next day and Jennifer is returning back to work to find out she has a new business partner and she is horrified to find out that it is MR Wright, her one-night stand from the night before! They are both keen to keep their relationship purely business, but will they both be able to keep it that way.
I really enjoyed reading this book. I really enjoyed how we were able to read the book from the aspects of both of the main characters. it was great to see it from both sides and gave you a good insight in the backgrounds of both Jennifer and Mr Wright and made you aware of how their lives were affected from experiences in their past.
The sex scenes in the book were very descriptive and well written, they were also very believable and an integral part of the story.
This is the first book I have read by Rachael Stewart and I am really looking forward to reading more.

The Pieces of You and Me by Rachel Burton

Today I am so excited to be taking part in the publication day push for this amazing read from Rachel Burton. I would like to thank Rachel's Random Resources for inviting me to take part and for my copy of this book in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

Book Description
They say time can heal all wounds...
When Jess and Rupert parted ways, it was the end of a great love story that might have been. Now ten years later, the very different paths they have taken in life will bring them back together for a chance meeting.
But with so much left unsaid about the break up neither ever recovered from and with each keeping their own devastating secrets, will they finally be able to make the fractured pieces of their love for one another whole again?

My Review
Jess is attending her friend Gemma's hen night when she bumps into a face from her past. One she has not seen for ten years and  who was once her first love.
Rupert was not surprised to bump into Jess after all these years as he has been in touch with Gemma over the years and is not surprised to see Jess there. What does surprise him is the feelings that all coming rushing back to him since he last saw Jess and he is keen to get to know her again and be part of her life again too.
Jess and Rupert start talking and they both realise the feelings are still there but they are both very cautious about starting the relationship again.
Things start off slowly between the two and they are both want to be happy. But with both of them keeping secrets with the relationship falter again or will love conquer all?
This is a fantastic, heart warming and addictive read that I devoured in one day. I loved how the book was able to go between the past relationship between Jess and Rupert using the diary entries that were written by Jess. It gave you a great insight in how  their relationship grew and how much they were in love. It also showed all of the hurdles they had to overcome and what finally drove them apart.
I also liked that you got to read their story develop from Rupert side too and all parts flowed so well together and made the story complete.
The issue of Jess's illness was handled very well and was obviously very well researched by Rachel. I also loved getting to know all the other characters in the book, they were all well written too and all added to the story giving you a good idea of how their relationship progressed.
I throughly enjoyed this book from Rachel Burton and I am looking forward to see what Rachel writes next.

Knowing You by Samantha Tonge

So today I am so excited to be part of the publication day Blog Blitz for this amazing and gripping read. Thank you to Rachel's Random Resources for inviting me to take part and for a copy of the book in exchange for my honest review. I hope you enjoy reading my review.

Book Description
An abrupt change; a new friendship; a dark secret...
Kind-hearted Violet has never fitted in, but despite being bullied at school is now content. She is dating ambitious Lenny, has her dream job in publishing and runs a book club at the local retirement home.
However, when her relationship with Lenny begins to falter, Violet, hurt and alone, seeks the advice of her new flatmate, Bella. She changes her image and with her head held high aims to show that she doesn’t need Lenny in her life to be happy and successful.
Her long-term friends Mable and Farah worry about Bella’s influence and slowly Violet starts to distance herself from them. When she was a child, her closest confidant and companion was a boy called Flint. Her mother didn’t approve of their closeness and he suffered a terrible end. She won’t let the same thing happen to Bella, no matter what anyone says...
Knowing You is about friendship and knowing who to trust with your deepest secrets; it’s about taking control of your life and not being afraid to stand out. Perfect for fans of Ruth Hogan, Gail Honeyman and Amanda Prowse.

My Review
Wow what can I say about this book. It is such a gripping read that will have you hooked from the first page to the last and will stay with you long after you have finished reading it.
Violet is happy with her quiet life that she has with her boyfriend Lenny and the job that she has always wanted. She also has a small but close knit group of friends and she runs a book club too.
Violet feels that her world is about to collapse when she finds out that her relationship isn't everything she thinks it is and finds herself living alone.
It's at this time that she gets a flatmate Bella and the two of them become very close friends. Bella is soon encouraging Violet to change her lifestyle and her image and Violet follows all of the instructions and guidance that Bella gives her.
It isn't long before Violet's confidence is growing and her waistline is shrinking and it is not going unnoticed  by her colleagues and friends who can't believe the change in Violet. They are all stunned and intrigued as to how she has managed it and who her mysterious new flatmate Bella is.
However it isn't long before her friends start to worry about the effect that Bella is having on Violet and her reaction is to shut these people out of her life as she thinks she doesn't need them.
Little does Violet know just how much she needs her friends.
This is a fantastic read that is full of twists and turns that will keep surprising you as you enjoy the book, right up to the very end. The writing style is brilliant and is obviously well researched as this could be a difficult and sensitive subject to write but Samantha has approached it very well. I love the idea of it being set around the book publishing world and does give you some behind the scenes ideas of what goes on.
Samantha Tonge has done it again and has written an amazing book that I could not put down. I'm looking forward to see what Samantha writes next.

Absolutely Smashing it by Kathryn Wallace

I am so excited to bring you my review of this hilarious debut novel from Kathryn Wallace.
thank you to Kirsteen Astor and to Sphere Publishing for my advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

Book Description
"SAM! AVA! Get downstairs, NOW. Have you done your TEETH? HAIR? SHOES? Come on, come on, come on, we're going to be bastarding late again. No, I haven't seen Lego Optimus Prime, and nor do I give a shit about his whereabouts. Sam, will you stop winding your sister up and take this model of the Shard that I painstakingly sat up and created for you last night so that I wouldn't be in trouble with your teacher. I mean, so that you wouldn't be in trouble with your teacher. No, it doesn't smell of 'dirty wine'. Well, maybe it does a little bit. Look, Sam, I haven't got time to argue. Just hold your nose and get in the car, okay? AVA! TEETH! HAIR! SHOES!"
Gemma is only just holding it together - she's a single parent, she's turning 40 and her seven-year-old daughter has drawn a cruelly accurate picture which locates Gemma's boobs somewhere around her knees. So when her new next-door neighbour, Becky, suggests that Gemma should start dating again, it takes a lot of self-control not to laugh in her face.
But Becky is very persuasive and before long Gemma finds herself juggling a full-time job, the increasingly insane demands of the school mums' Facebook group and the tricky etiquette of a new dating world. Not only that, but Gemma has to manage her attraction to her daughter's teacher, Tom, who has swapped his life in the City for teaching thirty six to seven year olds spelling, grammar, basic fractions - and why it's not ok to call your classmate a stinky poo-bum...
It's going to be a long year - and one in which Gemma and Becky will learn a really crucial lesson: that in the end, being a good parent is just about being good enough.

This book is published by Sphere and is released on 7th March 2019

My Review
This is a brilliant and laugh out loud read that will have you hooked from the first to the last. It is perfect for any parents who are facing the daily struggles with children and all that entails.
In the book you Meet Gemma who is a single parent to two children, Ava and Sam. She also has a full time job and will be the first to admit she doesn't always get things done on time.
Gemma has new neighbours that move in next door, Becky and Jon and they have two children too. It is at a school meeting the two first meet. They strike up a conversation about some of the mums at the meeting and are soon in fits of giggles. They decide to head out together after the meeting for drinks and soon a firm friendship forms between the two. They come up with a plan to help each other. Becky is going to help Gemma find a new man and Gemma is going to help Becky get a job. What could possibly go wrong?
What follows is a hilarious account of both of the women try and help each other often with disastrous but very funny consequences as they both follow the plans set out for each other and try to absolutely smash it before the year is out.
I absolutely loved this book. Anybody that is a parent and does the school run will understand the references to the clique groups of women and just how hard it can be to look like you have got your life together and are winning at parenting.
I really like both of the main characters they are both well written and they both have good strong back stories to help with he running of the story.
This is the debut novel from Kathryn and I'm really excited to see what she writes next.

One Summer's Night by Kiley Dunbar

Today I am pleased to share with you my review of this fantastic debut Novel  from Kiley Dunbar. Thank you to Hera Books for my copy of the book for my honest review, and thank you to Tracy Fenton for inviting me to take part in the tour.

Book description
The path of true love never did run smooth…did it?

Kelsey Anderson is stuck in a rut so big, she’ll need a 4-wheel drive to get out. She’s just been made redundant from her dead-end job, and boyfriend Fran is so busy climbing up the career ladder that he’s forgotten how to have fun. She needs to change her life – and fast.

Stumbling across an advert for tour guides in Stratford-Upon-Avon seems like the perfect way to bring the sunshine back. In an impulsive move, she moves from her small Scottish village to Shakespeare’s birthplace, armed only with a suitcase and her battered copy of Shakespeare’s Sonnets.

Kelsey quickly falls in love with the place, her job as a tourist guide allowing her to explore every inch of the picture-perfect town, from cosy cafes to the picturesque banks of the river.

But it’s not just the town that captures her heart, as she finds herself torn between the actors Will and Jonathan who both vie for her affections.

But will beautiful Peony, the lead actress at the Oklahoma theatre company where Jonathan is playing Oberon in A Midsummer’s Night’s Dream, play a role in keeping Kelsey and Jonathan apart?

Or will flirtatious, charming Will, the fellow tour guide who has set his sights on Kelsey, keep the star-crossed lovers from finding their happy ending?

A gorgeously uplifting, feel good romance that will captivate readers of Holly Martin, Cathy Bramley and Milly Johnson.

My Review
I was really drawn to the book by the blurb on this and I really wasn't disappointed.
Kelsey is not happy with how her life is progressing at the moment and feels really stuck in a rut that she is desperate to get out of and have more fun. She has just lost her job, and her relationship feels like its hit a rough patch too. It is while she is looking at job adverts in the paper that she spots a job that she would love to do in Stratford-Upon-Avon. It is town that holds lots of memories for her and she would love to visit again. She applies for the job and is shocked to find out she's got it. She then has to break the news to not only her family and friends but her boyfriend Fran too. How will they all take the news, especially when it means moving from her small Scottish village to Stratford-Upon-Avon.
With the news broken to everyone it isn't long before her bags are packed and she's on the train to start her adventure.
Stratford-Upon-Avon is everything she remembered it to be from visits with her father and it isn't long before she soon gets settled into her new Job role as a tour guide. At first she is taught the ropes by another tour guide Will, but it doesn't take her long to build up the confidence and start doing tours on her own.
Once Kelsey settles into a routine with her fun new job she is soon making friends and does seem to spending a lot of time with Will but he is not the only man on the scene, as, during lunch at a nice street cafe Kelsey literally bumps into the gorgeous Jonathan who is staring as Oberon in a stage production of a Midsomer Nights Dream.
What follows in this book is the working adventure that Kelsey has over the summer season in Stratford-upon-Avon and could see her falling in love but who will it be with?
I really enjoyed this book from start finish. The Shakespeare references within the book are fantastic and really add to the story. I enjoyed reading about Kelsey and I think being in the town for the summer has a big impact on her and really gives her the confidence that's he was really lacking in. Also loved how well Kiley described the town, it is not somewhere I have visited before but it is now on my list of places I want to visit.
This debut novel from Kiley is brilliant and I can't wait to read what comes next.

About the Author
KILEY DUNBAR
I’ve spent the last decade teaching English Literature at a University in the North of England. This involved researching and writing for academic publications (stuff that only a handful of fusty boffins will ever read). I’ve finally turned my hand to writing the romantic fiction I’ve always dreamed of and I hope my readers enjoy my sweet and feisty characters and dreamy locations.
The heroine of my first novel One Summer's Night works as a tour guide in the beautiful theatre town of Stratford-upon-Avon. I too spent a working summer in Stratford where I found my very own leading man. We got engaged four days after we met. This tells you that I’m A) not exactly risk averse and B) a true romantic.
Twenty years on we live in Cheshire with our kids and Bedlington Terrier.

Rosie's Travelling Tea Shop by Rebecca Raisin

Today I am so excited to have been invited to take part in the blog tour for this fun and heart warming read from Rebecca Raisin. This is published on 3rd March 2019 by HQ Digital, who I would like to thank for my copy of this book in exchange for my honest view.

Book Description

Rosie Lewis has her life together.

A swanky job as a Michelin-Starred Sous Chef, a loving husband and future children scheduled for exactly January 2021. That’s until she comes home one day to find her husband’s pre-packed bag and a confession that he's had an affair. Heartbroken and devastated, Rosie drowns her sorrows in a glass (or three) of wine, only to discover the following morning that she has spontaneously invested in a bright pink campervan to facilitate her grand plans to travel the country.

Now, Rosie is about to embark on the trip of a lifetime, and the chance to change her life! With Poppy, her new-found travelling tea shop in tow, nothing could go wrong, could it…?
A laugh-out-loud novel of love, friendship and adventure! Perfect for fans of Debbie Johnson and Holly Martin.

My Review
This is a fantastic read that will have you engrossed from the first page to the last as you follow Rosie on her adventure to find herself.
Rosie is devastated when all her life plans come crashing down around her after her Husband, Callum  drops the bombshell that she's not spontaneous enough and that he's been having an affair and he is going to be leaving her. This is not how things were meant to go. Rosie had it all planned out, how their lives would progress together, she had even planned when they would have children.
Rosie decides to not let him get to her and prove that she is not spontaneous and decides she has had enough of her job, and after a few too many glasses of wine she accidentally buys a pink camper van.
Rosie's new plan then starts to take shape she is going to go on a tour of the country and make some hearty home cooked meals to sell to fund her trip.
With her Home all packed up and everything she needs loaded in the camper named Poppy, Rosie has a sudden lack of courage and very nearly changes her mind. This is such a big step for her to take but after a strong talking to herself, She heads out of London and hits the open road for her new adventure.
It's at her first stop off that Rosie meets Aria, who has a travelling book shop and the two of them strike up a close friendship deciding to have an adventure travelling together. What follows is the adventure of the two of them as they spend time travelling and getting to know more people to share their adventure with. It's while stopping at a festival that they meet the very handsome Max. Although he is the total opposite to Rosie sparks begin to fly between the two of them. Max, however is not the only man on Rosie's mind as she has been emailing a man called Oliver after chatting with him online about getting into the traveller life. They have yet to meet up though and they are both keen to do so but is Oliver everything he seems? will travelling over the summer help Rosie get over Callum and will she learn to love again?
This is a fantastic read. Rosie to start with is very unsure of herself and lacking in confidence. It's great to see that grow and watch her bloom as you read all about her making different choices. There is a range of supporting characters that surround her all of who are a part of Rosie's adventure and also have stories of their own.
I loved reading about all of the settings they visited and I loved it when one local to me that I have visited was featured. I also loved reading about all of the yummy treats and teas that Rosie created however they will seriously make you hungry while reading.
