Today is my stop on the Blog Tour for this fun and witty, romantic new release from Debbie Viggiano.
Thank you to Rachel's Random Resources for inviting me to join the tour and for my copy the ebook in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.
Book Description
Willow has been living with marriage-shy Charlie for more years than she cares to remember and is old-fashioned enough to want a wedding band and a loads-of-sex honeymoon before stretchmarks and nipple shields.
So when the once-wary Charlie surprisingly goes down on one knee, Willow doesn’t question why her boyfriend is suddenly so keen to rush her into saying “I do”.
The first clue comes as Willow is zipped into her Cinderella dress, the second as she bobs into the wedding car, and the third as the Roller swings towards its fairy-tale destination… leaving a shell-shocked Willow desperately trying to figure out what to do next.
A bride can do anything she wants on her wedding day, but nobody expected her to do this…
My Review
This is an absolutely brilliant read from Debbie Viggiano. It is brilliant from the first page to the last, and one you will not want to put down.
Willow is excited to be out celebrating her thirtieth birthday with her beloved boyfriend, Charlie. Having been together for almost a decade willow is keen to settle down and get married. That is until she brings this up with Charlie and finds out it is a definite no from him. Willow feels bad for bringing it up and decides that maybe her and Charlie are better off as they are. Willow loves Charlie and she knows he loves her.
But does Charlie really love Willow or is it just convenient for him to have Willow at home doing all of the household chores while he is out doing exactly what he wants to do.
Willow has a best friend Emma, who is always the one that Willow goes to with her problems and Willow is always there for Emma too. Willow knows that Emma has some secrets about the new man she is seeing.
Charlie has a best friend in Ben too who is also going through a tough time in his relationship. He knows all of Charlies secrets too and they are really beginning to weigh him down too.
Willow is shocked when Charlie does a major u-turn and proposes but she is also delighted. This is the future the has always dreamed of. However, things may not be what they seem. And as Willow is getting ready on the day of her dream wedding some secrets get revealed that throw her into turmoil and could change things forever.
Wow this is such. brilliant and read that will keep you guessing right up to the end.
You just think you have the storyline all worked out and then you get thrown another twist which makes you think again.
The character of Willow is quite a mild and loveable character that I enjoyed getting to know. She does have great relationships with her friends, but at times you just want to shout at her to make it clear what is going on around her.
Charlie is such a nasty piece of work that does not deserve the love of someone like Willow. The levels of his deceit are just crazy and the amount of people that get drawn into his web of lies is awful. I found it incredibly satisfying reading about his discomforts from all scrapes he gets himself into.
The writing style is just brilliant. With the right amount of wit and humour, with the addition of some romance too. The description of the behaviours of those around Willow and Charlie is just fascinating and they all add so much to the story.
This book is Debbie Viggiano at her best and a great addition to her library of exceptional reads.
