Love heart Lane by Christie Barlow

Love heart Lane
by
Christie Barlow

Today is publication day for this fantastic read from Christie Barlow and I'm really looking forward to sharing my review with you.

Book Description

When Flick Simons returns to the small village of Heartcross she only expected to stay for a few days. The white-washed cottages of Love Heart Lane might be her home, but the place holds too many painful memories, and of one man in particular – Fergus Campbell.
When a winter storm sweeps in, the only bridge connecting the village to the main land is swept away! As the villagers pull together, Flick finds herself welcomed back by the friends she once left behind. And as the snow begins to melt, maybe there is a chance that Fergus’s heart will thaw too…

My Review
This is a cosy and heart warming read that'll have you hooked in after just a few pages. Set in the Scottish Highlands, within the village of Heartcross. Flick is taking a much needed break from her mundane job in London and heading back to Heartcross, the village she grew up in, to visit her mother after the death of her grandmother.
Flick Arrives during a huge snowstorm, one that Heartcross has not had for years but all of the villagers are prepared. It isn't long before Flick is settling back into village life and she is soon considering making a drastic change in her life and returning to the village, and reopening the tea rooms of her late grandmother. It was with the heart of the village on Love Heart Lane. Most of the residents welcome Flick back with open arms, however the welcome she receives from her ex boyfriend Fergus is decidedly frosty. As you read the book you learn more about their past relationship and the reason for them both to feel heartbroken.
While Flick is staying in Heartcross life is far from dull, as a vicious winter storm hits the town and Flick is soon drawn into being part of the village community again.
I loved the setting for this book and I really loved the community feel that this book creates. I think the character of Flick is someone that is maybe feeling a little lost and confused about where her life's going. Once she gets back to Heartcross, where she grew up things start to change for her.
The cover for this book is really eye-catching and certainly caught my eye. The colours work so well and gives you a clue of what the village may look like.
This was the first book I have read by Christie and I am so excited to learn there are going to be more in this series. While I wait for the next one to be released I will be adding more titles to my TBR pile.

This book is published on 11th January 2019 and is available from Amazon.

I want to say Thank you to Christie Barlow, HarperImpulse and Netgalley for my copy of this book for me to review.
Thank you for taking the time to read my review. I hope you enjoyed it.
