Love Punked by Nia Lucas

Love Punked
by
Nia Lucas

So for my second blog post of the day I am on the blog tour for this brilliant read from Nia Lucas. Thank you to Rachels Random Resources for inviting me to take part in this tour. happy reading.

Book Description
When her life is irrevocably altered by a post-Rave tryst on her mother's floral patio recliner, Erin
Roberts’ long-standing relationship with Humiliation takes her down a path that's not so much 'less
well trodden', more 'perilous descent down sheer cliffs'.
Armed with a fierce devotion to her best friend and the unrequited love for the boy she might have
accidentally married at age seven, when Erin falls pregnant at sixteen, life veers off at a most
unexpected tangent.
Her journey to adulthood is far from ordinary as Erin learns that protecting the hearts of those most
precious to you isn't balm enough when your Love Punked heart is as sore as your freshly tattooed
arse.Whilst raising football prodigies and trying not to get stuck in lifts with Social Work clients who hateher, Erin discovers that sometimes you have to circumnavigate the globe to find the very thing that was there all along.

My Review
This is a brilliant read that really drew me in after the first few pages and very quickly became very addictive. I loved all the characters in this book and it was great that there were not to many of them involved in the story. My heart really went out to Erin as she was growing up because all she wanted to do was be accepted by her friends and peers and this all backfired on her when she fell pregnant after a one night stand with an unknown drug dealer who never called. This book is funny at times and most of us will identify some of the mistakes made by Erin in her teens! This story is the life that Erin makes for herself after all that has happened to her along the way. There are times that will have you reaching for the tissues as things get really emotional but this is all balanced well with the laughs you encounter as you read Erins story. I think Nia Lucas has a very insightful way of writing and the amount of experience she has of these issues in this read is evident in this.
I loved this book and i'm looking forward to more from Nia Lucas.
