Book Description
Kate Clothier is leading a double life: a successful jet-setting businesswoman to the outside world, but behind closed doors, life with Daniel and his volcanic temper is anything but rosy.
Some days – heck, make that EVERY day – cake is her only salvation.
Slowly but surely, the cities she visits – and the men she meets – help her to realise there IS a better future.
And the ley lines of Glastonbury are certainly doing their best to impart their mystical wisdom...
But will she escape before it’s too late?
My Review
Happy first birthday to Oh! What a Pavlova. This is a very emotive read that has a very powerful message. Kate is living two lives. this to start with can be difficult to read as it jumps between the two. However its not hard to see which side is which. This is a very difficult subject to write about and Isabella has done it with ease. I found the storyline quite hard to read because at times I just wanted to shout at Kate and rescue her from the clutches of Daniel to make herself a better life. However I do understand why she felt the need for a double life to escape him and to just feel like Kate again, But I felt that cheating on her husband wasn't the way out for her. I loved the cities that were so very well described in the book and the adventures they had within them. I loved all the references to cake and treats, but be warned they will make you feel hungry. This was the first book I have read by Isabella May and I am looking forward to trying some more.
