The Makings of a lady
by
Catherine Tinley

Today I am excited to be taking part in not one, but two blog tours!
here is my first review. Hope you enjoy reading it.

Book Description

Be calm, she thought.

Be gracious. Be twenty-two.

Lady Olivia Fanton is eager to prove she’s no longer a child. However, just as she thinks she’s found a suitable match in the suave Mr Manning, charismatic Captain Jem Ford walks back into her life, bringing with him all the embarrassment of her infatuation four years before! She’s determined to appear mature distant, friendly. But does she dare hope he’ll notice her as the lady she’s become?

My Review
This was my first experience of reading a book by Catherine Tinley, and the first historical romance novel I have read. I thoroughly enjoyed the romance and drama that was very engaging from the first page. I enjoyed the will they won't they romance for Lady Olivia and Captain Jem.  I really liked that the story was told through both Olivia and Jem's point of view and it was nice as the reader to see what could blossom between the two of them even if they couldn't see it themselves, this lead to them both being frustrated with all the miscommunication happening between them. I thought all go the characters were all very well written and I felt you could engage with all of them even if some of them were a little devious.
I enjoyed this book from start to finish and I would highly recommend it.
