Summer Secrets at Streamside Cottage by Samantha Tonge

Today is my stop on the Blog Tour for this uplifting and intriguing new release from Samantha Tonge. Thank you to the team at Aria for inviting me to join the tour, and for copy of the ebook in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

Book Description

A new start can come from the most unexpected places...

It's been years since Lizzie Lockhart spoke to her parents. But she was safe in the knowledge she knew everything about them. Once upon a time, they were as close as could be. Until they weren't.

After receiving the earth-shattering news of their passing, Lizzie decides it's time to unearth some family secrets and find out just who her parents really were... starting with Streamside Cottage. A cottage Lizzie never knew existed, in a place she's never heard of: the beautiful English village of Leafton.

Leaving behind London, and the tattoo parlour she called home, Lizzie finds herself moving to the countryside. Faced with a tight-lipped community, who have secrets of their own, Lizzie is at a loss for what to do, until her rather handsome neighbour, Ben, steps in to help.

As Lizzie finally begins to piece together the puzzle of her family history she realises she has to confront the truth of the past in order to face her future.

My Review
This was such a brilliant read, full of fun and intrigue that I simply adored and could not put down.
Lizzie Lockhart has worked hard to become the successful tattoo artist that she has always dreamed of, even if that meant going against her parents wishes for her, meaning she has not spoken to then for years.
Lizzie is shocked to receive the news that her parents have passed away and decides that now could be a good time to explore some of the secrets that have been kept hidden for so long including Streamside Cottage. Which Lizzie has found out her parents owned.
Lizzie decides that a stay in Streamside Cottage is the only way to get to the bottom of what secrets her parents have been keeping.
Lizzie finds herself in the pretty village of Leafton and immediately feels at home in the mysterious cottage.
Lizzie is soon immersing herself into village life and getting to know all of the residents too. Nobody seems to know anything about her parents but Lizzie does find out more about the mysteries surrounding the cottage.
Lizzie digs deeper into the the cottage secrets and is soon finding out what she needs to know.
Do the secrets from Lizzie past hold the key to her moving on with her future.
there is only one way to find out.
This is simply a fantastic read full of mystery and intrigue that will really keep you absorbed into the story from beginning to end.
The village of Leafton sounds like an idyllic place to live and one that has such a warm community feel even though there are plenty of secrets too.
Lizzie was a very interesting character to read. It is obvious as you read that she is desperately longing to fix her past to help her heal. Her confidence in her ability grows as you read through the book too.
I thoroughly enjoyed the writing style of the book. It flowed well and was interesting reading from different parts of Lizzie past as well as her current life.
The mystery and intrigue that is woven into the book make for and incredibly addictive read.
What a brilliant new release from Samantha Tonge, and one that should not be missed.
