Book Description
WELCOME TO THE BEAUTIFUL SEASIDE TOWN OF PORT AGNES.

A fresh start…

Midwife Ella Mehenick left the small Cornish town of Port Agnes for London and never looked back. But when her seemingly perfect life crashes down around her, there’s only one place she can heal her battered heart – the place she once called home.

A new arrival…

Ella is quickly welcomed into the small community midwife team and loves her new job caring for mums and their precious babies – it’s what she does best! But being back also means facing ex-flame Dan Ferguson…the first man to break her heart.

A second chance at love?

Dan is still as gorgeous as ever, but he’s never forgiven Ella for leaving. And now she’s back it’s clear that there is unfinished business between them. As Ella settles into her new/old life, she can’t stop the memories of how she once loved Dan so completely – and maybe never stopped.

Maybe coming home to Cornwall is Ella’s chance to love again…

Meet The Cornish Midwives of Port Agnes- where community, friendship and love are always delivered.

An uplifting and escapist read, perfect for fans of Christie Barlow, Jessica Redland and Holly Martin!

This book was previously published as Return to Port Agnes.

My Review
This is such a wonderful, heartwarming and uplifting read that I loved from beginning to end.
Ella Mehenick works as a midwife. She adores the job she does with helping people so much and has worked hard to make herself a success.
Ella has been working in London and sharing her life with her husband to be, but when things don't go to plan Ella makes the decision to head back to The Cornish village of Port Agnes it is where she grew up and will always call home.
Ella gets a temporary contract working as a  Midwife for the village and surrounding areas. It does not take long for Ella to find her feet and really become part of the community again. But Ella keeps reminding herself that she only has the contract for six months and needs to plan ahead for when that ends.
Ella soon falls back into the routine from her old life and starts to see more of the friends she left behind. This includes her first love Dan. The longer Ella spends back in Port Agnes the more she realises how much she loves it there, and as she spends more time with Dan she begin to think that maybe her heart truly lays in Port Agnes, but only time will tell.
This is such a wonderful story that will really uplift you and make you smile.
The village of Port Agnes sounds like an idyllic place to live and work. The real sense of community comes off the pages as you read through the book and it really draws you into the story.
I enjoyed getting to know Ella. after the disaster in London you can see she is lacking in confidence with her private life but it does not take long for Port Agnes to work its magic on her. Ella loves her job as a midwife and she is brilliant at making each of her mums feel cared for and looked after.
Dan has had a difficult childhood but thanks to his wonderful sister he has been able to make a success of his future.
The parents of Ella are great to get to know and it is clear how much they adore their daughter and want the best for her. The bond that they have with Ella is so strong.
There is a wonderful cast of characters that live within the community that all add to the story and you get an insight into their lives too.
I really enjoyed getting to know the Community of The Cornish village and I am already looking forward to my next visit to Port Agnes and the Midwife team.
