Today is my stop on the Blog Tour for this latest addition to the 'Little Duck Pond cafe' series from Rosie Green. Thank you to Rachel's Random Resources for inviting me to join the Tour, and for my copy of the ebook in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.
Book Description
Ellie's brand new enterprise, the True Loaf Bakery, is finally open and classes are due to start. But when Katja's ski-ing holiday ends in disaster, a new teacher must be found very quickly. Anita is up for the challenge, but - fresh from a break-up and an operation that's left her feeling physically and emotionally vulnerable - the last thing she's looking for when she moves to Sunnybrook is a new relationship. So it's Sod's law that she should find herself with not one but two guys vying for her attention. Sven, from Denmark, is a bit of an enigma - but maybe passion lurks beneath his cool reserve? And as for twenty-five-year-old football coach Ross - surely she'd be asking for trouble getting involved with a gorgeous man a decade her junior? (Although her football-mad son Rufus seems to love him.)
Moving in with Bertha proves a real comfort - but can Anita get to the bottom of what's troubling the older woman?
Anita's job at the True Loaf Bakery is only temporary, but she finds herself drawn ever deeper into life in the village - especially when she finds a child's bracelet from long ago, in the rubble of the newly-renovated building. Solving the mystery of who it belongs to takes Anita on a journey of discovery - a journey that might just help her discover what her own heart really needs...
My Review
Ellie is excited to get her Bakery open and has classes all booked up ready to go. Then disaster strikes and she finds herself without a teacher. Anita finds out about the vacancy and after heartbreak and surgery this could be just what she needs to help her find her feet again.
Anita finds herself and her son staying with her friend within the beautiful village of Sunnbrook. Anita is determined to work hard even though she knows the job is only temporary and wants to keep everyone at arms length. This does not go to plan though as Anita finds herself loving village life and all that is has to offer her and her son. The residents of the village are all so warm and welcoming and not one but two of the village single men take a liking to Anita too.
As Anita spends more time in the village she gets to know more of the people taking her class, and after finding out that Anita is living on a friends sofa, she is offered some rooms at the home of Bertha who is need of company while her husband is away.
The more time she spends with Bertha the more Anita begins to realise that something is bothering Bertha, and to repay her kindness Anita is going to help her in anyway she can.
This is not the only mystery that is on Anita's mind as she finds a Childs bracelet which appears to have been from a long time ago. Just who does the bracelet belong to?
With all of this going on and being busy with he classes it seems Anita is beginning to become part of the community within Sunnybrook. Could this be where she needs to be after all?
This is such great addition to the Duck Pond Cafe series and one I simply could not put down.
It was great to be back in Sunnybrook with all of the characters we have grown to know over the series and also get to meet some new additions too.
Anita was a lovely character to get to know. She has had so much hurt in the past and is desperate to put that behind herself and get a great new start for her and Rufus.
The storyline around Bertha and her past was very intriguing and really kept you hooked into the story.
Reading a book from this series is like a breath of fresh air. It will really lift your heart and put a smile on your face too. This is a great addition to the series and I am already looking forward to my next visit to Sunnybrook.

About the Author
Rosie has been scribbling stories ever since she was little.
Back then, they were rip-roaring adventure tales with a young heroine in perilous danger of falling off a cliff or being tied up by 'the baddies'.
Thankfully, Rosie has moved on somewhat, and now much prefers to write romantic comedies that melt your heart and make you smile, with really not much perilous danger involved at all - unless you count the heroine losing her heart in love.
Her series of novellas is centred around life in a village cafe.
Thank you for visiting my Blog today, and I hope you enjoyed my review.
