Today I am pleased to share with you my review of this fantastic and heart warming read from Melanie Cantor. I would like to thank Anne Cater for inviting me to join the tour and for my copy of the book.
Book Description
Jennifer Cole has just been told that she has a terminal blood disease. She has three months to live -- ninety days to say goodbye to friends and family and put her affairs in order. Trying to focus on the positives (at least she’ll never lose her teeth) Jennifer realises she has one overriding regret: the words she’s left unsaid.
Rather than pursuing a frantic bucket list, she chooses to stay put, and write letters to three significant people in her life: her overbearing, selfish sister, her jelly-spined, cheating ex-husband, and her charming, unreliable ex-boyfriend finally telling them the things she’s always wanted to say but never dared.
At first, Jennifer feels cleansed by her catharsis. Liberated, even. But once you start telling the truth, it's hard to stop. And, as she soon discovers, the truth isn't always as straightforward as it seems, and death has a way of surprising you ...
My Review
I found the title of this book very intriguing and I could not wait to jump into once it arrived in the post, and wow I was not disappointed. I was engrossed in this book from the first page to the last.
Jennifer Cole is shocked to receive the diagnosis that she has a terminal blood disease. She only went in for some routine blood tests and now has been told she has three months to live.
At first Jennifer feels she needs to keep her news to herself as she is unsure how to tell those around her and is worried how they will react.
She tells her best friend, Olivia who straight away suggests that Jennifer should start a bucket list and do all those things she wanted to do. However Jennifer decides instead to tell three of the people that have hurt her over the years how she really feels so she writes them letters.
Feeling so much better after sending the letters Jennifer waits to hear if they respond.
The three do respond to her letters and things began to change for Jennifer as she begins countdown to her death things however don't go quite to plan.
I loved this book from start to finish. there are times you will feel full of emotion and times where you feel uplifted. This book is so full of twists, turns and surprises that you will feel compelled to keep turning the pages.
I really enjoyed the style of writing and I feel that it was written in a very sympathetic manner.
I am looking forward to reading more from Melanie Cantor.
