The Silver Sting by Angela Dandy

Today I am excited to share with you my review of this brilliant read from Angela Dandy. Thank you to Anne Cater for my coy of this book in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

Book Description
It has been thirteen years since the elderly residents of Magnolia Court were scammed out of a comfortable retirement by an unscrupulous developer who took their money and ran. A twist of fate leads Gabby, Uncle Max and Aunt Hetty’s niece to uncover the developer’s whereabouts. Pointed in the right direction by Gabby, the residents draw on their life skills to overcome one obstacle after another in order to recover what is theirs by right. No one should underestimate the tenacity and ingenuity of this charming and endearing bunch of senior citizens. Age and infirmity are set aside as they set out on their quest to seek retribution.

My Review
Gabby has recently divorced from her Ex husband and has decided to visit her Uncle Max and her Aunt Hetty. She is disappointed that she let him stop her from visiting the pair of them but is determined to make amends with them and apologise for not visiting them for such a long time. Gabby is shocked to see how much their home has fallen into disrepair and she is further shocked to find out that they, along with the other residents of Magnolia Court have been scammed out of their retirement funds by a devious developer who has taken their money and disappeared.
Gabby is desperate to find this man and give him a piece of her mind. As luck would have it she does find out where he is and she comes up with a plan to help her aunt and uncle.
With the support of her Aunt and Uncle and the other Magnolia Court residents they hatch a plan to fix what they have all lost and put right the wrongs that have been done to them all.
I found this book quite slow to get started, however once the story did get going I raced through the pages to reach the conclusion of the 'silver sting'. The book almost reads as two stories as you get a great insight into the history of all the characters alongside what is currently happening I Magnolia Court.
This is a fantastic story about friends and family sticking together and trying their best to right all the wrongs that have happened to them all at the hands of Harry the unscrupulous property developer.
I really enjoyed reading this and I'm looking forward to reading more from Angela Dandy.
