That Long Lost Summer by Minna Howard

Today I am on the blog tour for this brilliant read from Minna Howard. Thank you to Aria fiction for my copy of the book in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

Book Description
A gorgeous and bittersweet romance set in the South of France, about an old passion rekindled and the choice between family loyalty and a great love.
Flora and Hugo are devoted to their children, but when their girls leave home for university, their lives seem empty. Hugo is cold and distant, leaving Flora unsure what their future holds. When they are invited to a friend's villa in the South of France, Flora hopes the summer sun and gorgeous setting may bring them closer together. In a crumbling, picturesque villa in the luscious French countryside, they are introduced to Susie, Matt and their friends. Flora is surprised to meet Xavier, her old flame, who she fell in love with one long lost summer when she was eighteen. They parted suddenly all those years ago, leaving Flora wondering, what if...
Handsome, passionate, sensitive, Xavier is so different from her reliable, predictable Hugo. Both Flora and Xavier have moved on with their lives, but is there something that still lingers between them? Or will Flora's devotion to her children, and her loyalty to Hugo, show her where her true heart lies...

My Review
I was really excited to be given the chance to read and review this latest release from Minna Howard and I was not disappointed.
Flora and Hugo are feeling lost after their children fly the nest and head off to university. After spending so long being devoted to their children they both feel like their lives are empty and are not sure how to fill them back up again.
Flora feels that Hugo is becoming more and more quiet and distant with her and she doesn't know what to do to fix things.
When they are invited to spend the summer at their friends villa in the South of France Flora jumps at the chance as this could be the break. that brings them both back together again.
That is until they meet Matt, Susie and Xavier. Xavier is a face from her past and is one who stole her heart during a summer when she was eighteen. Will meeting up with him again bring back old feelings alongside the memories they share, will that be enough to make Hugo realise how good their marriage and relationship is and will they stay together?
I really enjoyed this book from start to finish. The writing style is fantastic and really keeps you drawn into the story. I really liked getting to know all of the characters and it was great to see what Flora wants and needs in her life now that its only the two of them.
The setting in the south of France sounds amazing and a great setting for this read.
